It's 4 years. We had a boy and named him Oliver. Jake and I are 22, Janie is 6, and Oliver is 4. He looks just like Jake. Janie called me mom now, and I honestly like it. She's really like a daughter to me. George has learned worse words, and mimics just about everything. But I'd be lying if I said it's not hilarious.
It was Sunday. Janie and I were at home and Jake and Oliver were out at the store. Janie ran in from her room holding a piece of paper.
"I forgot to give this to you. Principal Brown told me to have you guys read this." She said. I read through most of it.
"Janie!" I gasped.
Jake and Oliver then came in. Oliver ran and grabbed onto my leg.
"What's that?" Jake asked.
He grabbed it from my hands. I didn't even get to finish it. Damn. He read through it.
"Holy shit! This is amazing Janie! You're the top of your grade!"
He then read it more and his smile slowly faded away.
"Can I please talk to you in our room Cody?" He implied. I nodded my head yes.
"Well be right back." I said as we walked to our room. He shut the door and we sat on the bed. "What's wrong? I didn't get to finish it." He held the paper to where we both could read it.
"They want to put her in a different class. For kids with a higher IQ." He said. "Do we really wanna make her go through a transition. She just got used to her 1st grade classroom. Imagine the huge difference it'll be to move to a new one."
"Well there's a meeting with us and some of the staff about her on Monday. Remember? This is probably what it's about." I reminded. He nodded his head yes.
The next morning I got up early, like usual. We both called off work to go to this meeting so I let Jake sleep in a little. I was about to get out of bed when he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me back.
"No. Don't get up." He groaned.
"Jake. I need to get them ready for school." I sighed.
"Just a quickie?" He implied.
I rolled my eyes and got up. He's half asleep. No. I made breakfast and woke Janie and Oliver up.
"Where's daddy?" Oliver asked.
"He's still asleep, so you gotta be quiet." I answered.
All of a sudden Jake picked me up from behind and kissed me. Oliver and Janie laughed.
"Pick me up!" Oliver insisted.
Jake picked him up and threw him up in the air then caught him. He did the same to Janie too. They then ran to their rooms to get ready.
"Hey, you can just blow me really quickly now, and I'll be fine." He implied.
"Blow me now!" George repeated. I went into Oliver's room.
"Do you need help getting dressed?" I asked.
He nodded his head yes. I helped him put on a black shirt and jeans and put his socks and shoes on. Jake walked in.
"Why is my son's room like this?" He scanned the room.
"Like what?" I was confused.
"Why are there LED streamer lights and dolls." He asked.
"Because he wanted his room like this. We put it up yesterday." I answered. He rolled his eyes and walked away.
"Does daddy not like my room?" Oliver started to get really concerned and kinda upset.
"No. He loves it. He just didn't notice it before, and so he was surprised." I assured.
Even though it was clearly a lie. Afterwards I got ready and drove them both to school. Preschool and 1st grade. Then went back home.
