(TW:  Alcohol, background making out, drunk flirting)

Remus wasn't always a super social person, but when it came to his friends and family he'd be anywhere they asked him to go. His best friend Dante was turning 26, and he was determined to make sure it was his best birthday ever! He thought of every possible place that he might spend a birthday and narrowed it down to one place. Considering his newly single relationship status and normally proper attitude, Remus decided to take Dante to an LGBTQ+ nightclub.

Dante didn't seem too keen on the idea at first, but after getting a few drinks in his system, he appeared much more into it. Remus lost track of him for a few minutes, only to find him talking to a slender man in a purple hoodie.

"Three's a crowd." Remus thought, before leaving Dante to flirt in peace. He found himself walking to the karaoke bar. He got himself a screwdriver and sat alone listening to random drunk people singing along to the karaoke tracks. Feeling a little down on himself, Remus chugged his drink. He immediately felt the familiar buzz of alcohol.

The song stopped halfway through, confusing the heck out of a very tispy Remus. He looked up at the stage and saw that someone had picked up a microphone and was about to sing. Remus usually wouldn't pay any of these sh**ty singers any attention, but he couldn't help taking a good look at this one.

He was a somewhat tall man with neatly combed dark-brown hair. He was wearing a navy blue button down shirt and black dress pants. It was very attire for what everyone else wore at a place like this. He looked offstage at a table, where two other men were seated. One had curly golden-brown hair, while the other had messy auburn hair. The curly-haired man at the table gave him a big thumbs up.

The instrumental began to play. Remus recognized the song immediately; it was 'Counting Stars' by OneRepublic. He leaned back in his chair, his head spinning a little when he did. Remus was very interested in where this was going to go. The man onstage lifted the microphone to his mouth and started singing along to the track.

"Lately I been, I been losing sleep

Dreaming about the things that we could be

But baby I been, I been prayin' hard

Said no more counting dollars

We'll be counting stars

Yeah, we'll be counting stars"

The man's voice was smooth, flowing from note to note seemingly effortlessly. Remus was in awe. He was used to raspy voices that were a little off-beat. During the small instrumental interlude, the man onstage looked unsure of what to do. He looked back at who Remus assumed were his friends. They offered more support, watching eagerly.

"I see this life

Like a swinging vine

Swing my heart across the line

In my faces flashing signs

Seek it out and ye shall find."

Remus wasn't expecting this guy to have such a great singing voice and also be able to rap very well. He listened intently to the song as one of the only people actually paying attention. The singer was scanning the room as he continued the song. Remus wasn't if he was looking for someone, but they locked eyes.

"Everything that kills me makes me feel alive."

The instant the song was over, Remus clapped. He was the only one applauding, but he didn't care. The singer looked somewhat embarrassed, quickly rejoining his friends at their table. Without thinking twice, Remus got up and stumbled over to the table of men.

"Excuse me, just wanted to say you were fantastic." Remus said, accidentally letting a drunken burp slip out. The guy who had been singing scrunched up his nose, appearing surprised and a little startled. "I'm Remus." Remus added, holding out his hand.

"Logan." He said, shaking Remus's hand very hesitantly. Logan's friends smirked and shoved him to his feet. He and Remus stepped aside, out of earshot of Logan's friends.

"I like that song."

"I like it too." Logan nodded, visibly uncomfortable. "Do you want something? Is that why you're talking to me?"

"I wanted to talk to you."

"Why?"

"You seem like a cool guy." Remus shrugged. Logan looked to be in disbelief. "Are you... okay?"

"I'm.. fine."

"Can I buy you a drink?"

"I don't drink."

"Oh. Then would you want to dance?"

"I shouldn't leave my friends. They're-." Logan looked back over at the table. Remus followed his glance and was initially confused.

There had been two other men at the table, but only one chair was being occupied. After rubbing his misty eyes, taking a closer and clearer look, he realized that one of them had climbed onto the other chair. The curly-haired man had crawled into the other man's lap and was passionately kissing him. The other guy was holding the other by the waist, matching his level of effort.

"Nevermind.." Logan murmured, flushing pink.

"So... you're free?" Remus asked hopefully. Logan sighed and nodded.

"I'm not leaving the building, but yes."

"Fine by me." Remus thought for a second. "Want to join me at my table?"

"I suppose that might be enjoyable."

Logan and Remus talked for nearly two hours before either of them thought about finding their friends. Although Logan was completely sober, Remus was far gone. He had gotten to know Logan fairly well, and he really didn't want to say goodbye. Logan checked his wristwatch. It was nearly 1 a.m.

"I should really get back to Patton and Roman." Logan said. Remus felt his heart sink.

"Do you haaaaave to go?" Remus pouted. Logan smirked. He couldn't help but find Remus's endearment pretty cute.

"I should."

"But do you haaaaave to?"

"I suppose not." Logan laughed.

"Niiiiiice." Remus smiled, resting his head on his hands. "I like talking to youuuu."

"I don't dislike your company."

"That's good, right?"

"Correct." Logan chuckled.

"You have the voice of an angel." Remus said in a silvery voice. Logan felt his face heating up again.

"That's very kind of you."

"I bet your partner looooves to hear your smexy voice."

"Did I imply that I have a partner?"

"Well you have to. You're too-." Remus hiccuped mid-sentence. "-hot not to."

"On the contrary, I am not in a relationship. I haven't been interested in dating for a while." Logan explained. Remus nodded and shook his dizzy head.

"Are you still not interested?"

"I'm... potentially open to the idea."

"Then can I get your- *hic*- number?" Remus asked fumbling for his cell phone. Logan laughed and put his contact information in Remus's phone.

It was a nice surprise for a hung-over Remus to find the next morning.
