Logan Croft was never a social person. He was like a shadow, walking the halls of his highschool by himself. Nobody paid him any attention, and that was exactly how he liked it. He found it was much more beneficial to invest his energy in his work instead of another person. Logan spent his classes doing nothing but his assignments, and his lunch was spent reading.
The small amphitheater outside the cafeteria was Logan's favorite spot to eat. There was a rather large hill just by the amphitheater that a group of boys in Logan's grade always ate on. They were the only people who liked to eat outside. The school had a bit of a bee problem, which drove most other people back into the cafeteria. While the loud boys at the top of the hill hung out, Logan sat on the second row of the amphitheater trying his best to focus on his book and not eavesdrop.
Remus Duke didn't have a ton of friends, but the friends he did have were extremely close to his heart. They accepted him for who he was and tolerated some of his worse behavior. Remus knew that he was difficult to get along with. It meant a lot to him that his friends Dolion and Virgil had stuck with him.
While Remus enjoyed his art class, his favorite time of day was definitely lunch. Sitting out in the warm sun and talking with his friends was the best! Every so often Virgil would go sit with another group of friends, but he always came back eventually. There was another boy who sat outside, but he always sat in the amphitheater. He didn't bother Remus or his friends, so they tried not to bother him.
"Oh, shut up!" Dolion laughed, shoving Remus playfully after he made a crude joke. "You're a hopeless mess."
"Like you're any better, snake face?" Remus shot back. He and Dolion insulted each other all the time, but they both knew it was all in good fun.
"I never said that. I'm just saying you don't know when you've gone too far."
"That's what she said."
"Stop~!" Dolion groaned, leaning backwards and laying in the grass.
"Are you two dorks already driving each other mad?" Virgil chuckled as he reached the top of the hill.
"Virgil!" Remus exclaimed, tackling his friend in a bone-crushing hug. "You're back!"
"Yep. I can only handle Patton and Princey for so long."
"How is Roman?" Remus asked. He wasn't on good terms with his twin brother, so Virgil was really the source of information about Roman that Remus had access to.
"He's... great." Virgil said. He quickly brushed over that topic and took a seat next to Dolion. They struck up a conversation about something that had happened in their English class, while Remus let himself get lost in thought. It didn't take long for a couple of... unwelcome thoughts came.

The third thought actually didn't sound too bad. Once Remus brought himself back into reality, he saw that Dolion and Virgil were looking at him concerned. They recognized the look on his face and were admittedly worried for him. Remus had very poor impulse control and his intrusive thoughts usually led to him making bad decisions.
