Friday Night
Billie Jean

Once making it to Roller King's parking lot, I couldn't wait to get out and away from both Tyrone and my best friend. I don't know if they have something going, but it made me sick to my stomach to watch him and her being fluffy with each other. I felt out of place because every so often his eyes would shift to me while Robin paid no mind.

What a dog!

I hopped out the passenger seat where it seems to be majority people out on the parking lot smoking, drinking, and dancing with each other as if the roller ring wasn't where the party was. Someone's car radio blazed groovy music and I couldn't help, but swing my hips from side to side in amusement of the crowds of cars and young adults and teens having their own party in the lot.

"You should go inside and rent our skates, I'll be there in a minute." Robin says touching my shoulder.

"Why? We can go in together?" I smiled at my best friend who seemingly looked disinterested in that idea, but when Tyrone came around his truck and stood next to her, I suddenly realized why and felt uneasy with his stares.

" Just go ahead, don't wait up. I'll be there soon, Billie Jean." she mutters with a wink and I slowly nod understanding and began walking away a bit, but then I still felt something off in my tummy.

So I turned on my heels back to her and Tyrone. " You sure?" I awkwardly let out a chuckle as she nods once more aggressively while Tyrone places his hands around her waist.

" I'm positive Billie Jean, we'll be inside soon." Robin exclaims with a more forced smile wanting to push me away.

"Okay." I mumble with a small wave and turning back around holding my purse, footing to the door entrance watching a few girls from the high school going the same direction. This was probably the only placed you seen a mixed crowd at.

You'd still get stares, but most of us didn't care. The whites hung with who they wanted to while the blacks did the same. It was weird, but that was just life.

I turned back one more time to see Tyrone's pick up truck driving out the lot with Robin in it. I walked away from the door in confusion, running forward calling her name, but the tipsy me didn't realize that was a waste of a scream.

I stood there in the middle of the parking lot while a few people gave me a stare or two. I awkwardly smile in embarrassment. What do I do now?

Is she coming back? Was this the whole plan or something to leave me?

I decided to go inside and get our skates instead, hoping my best friend would return. I walk back to the entrance of the door to enter the roller ring and once I entered the blasting music of You Should be Dancing by The Bee Gees.

It was one of my favorite songs and I already felt myself swaying from side to side in excitement. The lights seem and the neon spotlights shining from left to right across the floors and walls. The over baring noise of laughter and chatter filled my ear and I'd be in complete euphoria if my best friend was right aside me, but she's not.

I still felt excited to be here altogether, I watched as I got complimented stares running my way as some whites gazed at my outfit in admiration while others pretended I mostly did exist.

I strolled to the skating rink front desk to rent two pairs of skates. The clicking of my heels hit the neon themed carpeting floor as I stared down at my heels. I noticed no one was in service and sighed.

" Hello?" I called softly looking around patiently. There was no need to rush anyway. I know no one here.

I seemingly glared at the desk spotting a small silver bell that read, " tap for service."

" Hm." I hum to myself being the dramatic girl I was and tapped it harshly, not to be impatient, but to hear the full potential of the bell.

In moments, a figure came pushing through the door that led to the back. His tall bean stock frame coming towards not noticing much of me yet.

My lips fell a gap as my eyes stretched out widely.

His cool and glorious green eyes gently looked up at me, his milky skin glimmering in the light. His cherry lips wetting as a look of amusement plastered across his face.

"I thought you said seeing you was only going to be a one time thing."
