Billie Jean"Summertime almost here, Billie Jean, aren't you excited!? It's basically in a few days!" Robin says as Mary, Diane, Dawn, and I sat at the lunch table eating away at our food.
"More sun, drive in movies, roller skating, parties, carnivals, sleepovers, and whatever us girls plan to do that day!" Mary beamed with Robin.
Dawn and I glared at each other for a second rolling our eyes playfully.
Lately, I haven't been in the happiest mood and it's been like this for a few weeks. I know why, but I hate admit it.
I haven't heard from my daisy friend since our first kiss. I don't know why? I think I scared him off with all that Tyrone talk, but I thought it was helpful yet, he's no where to be found.
Days I'd go to the corner store in hopes he'd be there or I'd swing by the diner to ask Barbara Ann and she wouldn't budge. Not spill anything of his whereabouts.
All she'd say is, " I'll tell em you were here looking for em suga." And go about her day.
The last place I can think of is our secret place.
The lake.
I bit into my grilled cheese as Robin long sleeved reached over trying to grab Diane's apple only for her loose sleeve to dip into my tomato soup.
"Oh snap, I just brought this turtleneck." she groans pulling away quickly grabbing napkins in panic.
"No one told you to reach over my food silly." I joke with a snort coming from my awoken laugh as the girls erupted with giggles.
"Serves you right, Robin. You're not suppose to reach over people stuff." Dawn states with a small smile joining in on my laughing circle.
"That's not funny." she summers throwing dagger eyes at Dawn while placing her wrecked hand under the table while Diane clears her throat.
Dawn and Robin lets say don't value each other's opinions at time, they go head to head at times because Dawn usually sees a problem in Robin's doings.
"So, guess who got a B on her chemistry test?" she says eagerly digging in her leather bag for her accomplishment.
"Oh dream on!" Mary says smacking her lips. " That class is hard"
My eyes darted to Robin who's concentration was still on her sleeve slightly hiding it under the table. She paid no mind that I was watching as she slightly rolls it up, trying to hide the damage of the sleeve.
Only to reveal damage upon her wrists, bruises and small scratches cutting into her wrist like they were home.
"Robin-" I utter making her eyes pop up pulling her wrist to her side covering the view of what I just saw.
"The twins can be aggressive sometimes." Robin chuckled highly her chest rising and fall rather rapidly.
"But-" I began reaching for her wrist.
"Found it!" Diane screamed pulling the test from her bag finally.
My eyes averted back to Diane only to see Keith coming up behind her.
Shit.
He was staring at me holding his tray of lunch coming towards the table, but all I can think about are the scratches. The twins can't be that aggressive to her. Like seriously, I know sometimes they don't always go along with their big sister, but scratching and bruising her wrist are another thing.
