I made eyesight with both of them as they stood in front of the school talking and giggling about who knows who.I felt my rage over heat charge through my temple and down my little body.
Who does Robin think she is? Like really?
Even though she was pretty despising I couldn't help, but admire her outfit.
Her burgundy skirt riding up her silk chocolate legs, her white peasant blouse swaying her chest. Those cute black platform boots rising up to her calf's perfectly with her two coiled puff balls floating on her head.
I can see why Keith would be drooling over her. Robin's way better than me. That's how it's always been.
Robin's first and I'm always second best. I'm her shadow, her sidekick. I'm that girl.
But Robin; she was the sun, the hero, the "it" girl.
I envied her at times, but I was always a good sport about it.
Always.
I finally grasped the courage to walk passed.
Well, I actually I needed to do it sooner or later, school was starting.
I swallowed the pride and spit and stepped passed the two, feeling their stares already hitting my back.
"Billie Jean!" I heard my best friend call and still stepping I ignored the echo of her voice storming to my locker.
"Gesh Billie come on, wait up." she huffs still following me as my legs extend further out than intended trying to reach the stairs.
"So is this still the silent treatment?" she continues as we reach the stairs.
I flew up them as she jogs after.
"Billie Jean-"
" Don't you have better things to do than talk to me?" I shout at her making everyone down the hall turn their heads.
Robin eyebrows furrowed, " You're causing a scene. Just like at the party."
"Fuck off Robin." I scuff turning my back to her and walking off.
I can admit this is the second time I've burned someone today and school hasn't even started yet. Billie Jean you are on fire.
"No, I'm not dealing with this again. Let's go." I heard Robin mutter in frustration yanking my wrist and forcing me to face her.
" Let me go, first period is about to start." I demand.
Robin rolled her eyes not answering and yanking me more. I tried scratching her off me, but the girl was a tough cookie.
"Robin I'm not joking. Let go." I say once more as she drags me along, down the hall.
The bell rang indicating first period will soon begin.
We reached a door and with checking to see if someone was watching Robin pulls it open, slinging me inside.
"What the hell, Robin seriously!" I shout as she close us in and the darkness indulging us. I tumbled to the floor. Noticing it was a lot of space as my hands slapped around, searching for my surroundings.
The room smelled of bleach and pine. It swarmed my nose like a war and it smelled of Sunday cleaning with mama.
I heard a clicking sound and the light inflamed itself around the room, more like a closet. The janitor closet.
I looked up to see the source. Noticing Robin pulled the light string allowing the bulb to show it's amazing talent.
She guarded the door with her body her arms crossed as I still sat there on the ground not in the mood to rise.
See, this isn't the first time Robin forced me into places and by now I'm already knowing there's no way out until she lets me out.
Might as well not waste my breath or energy on this.
"I'm tired of you running off every time I try to work this out between us." Robin sighs frustratedly, but still felt unfazed by her way of words.
"This is your first time trying since the situation Robin." I rolled my eyes placing my school bag under my bum so that I wouldn't get dirty.
"I wanted to give you space. You seemed pretty upset." Robin says with a huff.
The truth was after the whole weekend I was over it , up until this morning when I saw them together. It brought back everything.
"Yeah, why the hell did you call my house looking for me? You got me in trouble!" I hissed at her recapping the night in my mind.
"Gesh, I was worried about you."
"So what! I was worried about you when you ran off with Tyrone, but I didn't call your goddamn house Robin!" I argued feeling my face overheat and my thighs shaking rapidly in anger.
"And I'm sorry about that. I'm sorry about everything Billie Jean. I was a fucking bad friend and I'm owning up to it. I didn't mean to hurt you." Robin slides on the ground and her voice sounding hurt.
She made eye contact with me a few seconds into her spill, but she couldn't hold for long before looking at the ground in sorrow.
"Then you go and giggle with Keith. What type of friend are you?" I flip out more as she nods taking in my words.
"It's not like that, I swear. We were just talking about stuff. You know I'd never-"
" It doesn't matter, I don't like him anymore ." I shoo my hands to her words not looking at her.
We sat there in silence for awhile. We missed the bell for first period and I couldn't find the motivation to leave because even though I'm angry at her. I felt the urge to work things out because I actually missed my best friend.
The silence ringed on until I remember a key thought that came as a warning to me.
"You should stay away from Tyrone." I confess ever so softly as I fiddle with my fingers not wanting to gaze at the girl across from me.
"Why?" she asked.
I couldn't actually give her a reason, but when Harry warned me to stay away. I had no reason to dig further as to why. I just trusted his word.
"A friend told me that he was bad news." I sigh scrunching my eyebrows quickly.
It was quiet between us for moments until she sighs.
"A friend hm?" she says making me look up. "Tell me more about this friend."
"There's not much to know. He's a friend." I cut it short only for her to have a grin upon her lips.
"Okay. The friend's a he." she nods to herself. "Is this friend the reason you don't like Keith so suddenly?"
" I believe this is yours, sunshine."
"Because you're the prettiest brown girl I've ever laid eyes." .
"Attagirl"
"I couldn't wait to see you again by accident. So I went to find you on purpose."
"Meet me at the corner by ten, bunny."
"Maybe, you can be a good girl and not roll those big brown eyes of yours."
"You don't know what you do to me, bunny."
"No, not all" I slightly answer trying moisten my now dry and tight throat as I try manage something blossoming in my tummy.
Harry what have you done to me?!
