Everyone was staring at Aqua. They looked at Ms. Henry.
"I'm sorry Aqua, but you need to pack a bag." Ms. Henry said looking at her hands. Aqua runs to the sleeping quarters crying.
"Ebony..." She said still not looking up from her hands. Ebony turns and walked into the room Aqua ran into. Aqua was in their bed crying. Ebony climbed up to their bed and said
"Get your stuff we are running away." Aqua looked up confused but didn't stop to question it, they just started packing. Ebony opened her pillowcase and pulled out a small amount of cash.
"How did you get that?" Aqua asked.
"I saved all my chore money and shined shoes for a few weeks." Ebony responded not looking up from her packing. She closed her bag and looked up Aqua to see if they finished packing their bag. once both teens were packed they jumped out a window and ran.
After getting about 5 miles away they found an abandoned subway tunnel. they looked at each other knowing it was probably the best they were going to find. They walked into the tunnel and about 20 feet in there was a maintenance tunnel the two walked in and st up the best they could. Ebony opened her bag and pulled out a beanie. She continued looking through her bag holding out the hat to Aqua.
"For your hair," she said. Aqua took the hat and put in on their head.
"thanks... I didn't think of that."
"That's why you have me." Ebony said with a small smile
"Yea what would I do without you?" Ebony mocked jokingly sitting next to Ebony and dramatically leaning on her shoulder "I would simply wither away!" They put their hand to their head and fake sobbed before bursting out laughing. The two joked back and forth momentarily forgetting about their problems.

Ms. Henry walked into the bed room and saw the window open. She walked over to the window and whispered
"Be careful kids, stay safe." She closed the window hoping the kids would make it out and end up safe in the end.
"Where are they?" she herd a kid say as she walked back into the living room. A smile appeared on her face.
"They left when they had the chance. We just need to hope they stay free." The kids all looked at Ms. Henry staying silent until one asked
"Do you think they will make it to somewhere safe?" A small girl looked up at Ms. Henry hopefully.
"They are very smart. Both of them. They'll make it." The kids looked relived believing Ms. Henry. Ms. Henry was trying to believe what she said was true, they were smart, but could they avoid the entire government.
