"Jade!" Bella groaned at her best friend who kept throwing different dresses at her, "You do realize you're making it harder for me to pick what I'm going to wear?"
"I just want you to consider all your options."
"It doesn't matter what I wear."Bella could definitely be a girly girl when she wanted to and did enjoy dressing up, but Jade was stressing her out, trying to pimp her out for this party, and she still didn't even know where they were going.
"My Bella," Jade pouted, "I just want you to look half as good as me when we show up together. It's more for my sake than yours."
Bella smacked her friend on the thigh before rolling her eyes, "I can't help that you're so pretty, Jade."
"Oh shut up," she responded. Jade knew she was pretty and was never afraid to let people know, but Bella was such a unique beauty and she either didn't realize it or just didn't care, "You know you're ten times prettier than I am."
"Have you seen yourself?" Bella gawked. To her, Jade was the prettiest person ever. The two girls were both so different, both in their appearance and their character. Jade was a tall beautiful brunette with bright blue eyes. She was confident, outgoing, and a joy to be around. She loved all things fashion and makeup, which explained why she was an up and coming make-up artist.
Bella had long rose-gold hair, and she actually had jade green eyes, which had become a running gag between her and her best friend. Another big physical difference between the two was that Bella's body was littered with tattoos. Though she had so many, they weren't ever seen as distasteful, and with her soft demeanor, sometimes they went unnoticed. She was average height and had a tremendous body, being that she was a professional athlete.
But unlike her best friend, Bella was quiet and reserved. She was the sweetest person Jade knew, so she was naturally protective over her.
But, despite their differences, they had an incredibly healthy "you water me, I water you" type of friendship. Jade often pushed Bella out of her comfort zone, and Bella helped to keep Jade in check when she needed to. They really helped to balance each other out.
"How about this one?" Jade asked, holding up a short red tight-fitting dress while wiggling her eyebrows.
"I guess that works," Bella responded with a small grin on her face. She really did like the dress.
"Okay, so put this on and hurry up! We're already late," Jade giggled, pushing Bella into the bathroom.
Bella got ready relatively quickly, and she met her best friend at the door.
"Let's go chica!" Jade exclaimed dragging Bella out the door to the car that they shared. Jade used the car much more than Bella did. Her job meant that she often had to drive to her clients' houses. Bella, on the other hand, worked from home, so she rarely had to drive. She had a blog that had recently evolved into a podcast blog, though she never stopped writing, and she had developed a huge following, due to her at home fitness advice, take on sports, and expertise when it came to nutrition. She had cultivated a bachelor's degree in health from an online college, while she was wrestling in Japan.
Even though Bella didn't start the blog with sports in mind, due to her popular podcasts, her blog became most well known for it. So she ended up changing the domain to "Let's Talk Sports," and it was well-received by her readers and listeners.
None of her fans from her blog knew her real name, which made it easy for her to be candid. The blog certainly wasn't her dream job like wrestling once was, but it helped to pay the bills.Once they were in the car, Jade immediately sped off, like the reckless driver she was.
"Where are we going?" Bella asked, growing impatient after sitting in silence for a bit.
"We're almost there Bells. Relax." Jade knew how much Bella hated being called Bells, so she always called her that when she was getting annoyed with her.
"One of these days, I'm gonna kick your ass."
"You've been saying that for years now," she laughed, as she turned on the radio.
The rest of the ride was relatively silent, aside from the faint music playing on 103.5, but it was peaceful nonetheless. The environment was actually so peaceful that Bella began to drift off, right before Jade came to an abrupt stop, "We're here!"
"Jesus Jade!" Bella gasped.
The two women got out of the car, and Jade tossed her keys to the valet.
There was a long line to get in, but Jade grabbed Bella's hand and walked straight up to the bouncer.
She told him their names, and he nodded, letting them through. Bella furrowed her eyebrows. They had never been here before, at least together, so she had no idea why they were on that list.
"Okay. Can you tell me what we're doing here now?" Bella asked her evidently eager friend. Jade could hardly keep a secret. She was clearly dying to tell Bella where they were going, but she kept it a secret to surprise her.
"Yes. It was really hard for me to not tell you, but-" Jade stopped talking when she saw Bella's eyes widen, looking in the direction her awestruck best friend was looking in.
"That-that's CM Punk," Bella whispered, causing Jade to wink at her, "why don't you look shocked?"
"What day is it Bella?" Jade asked with a knowing smirk on her face.
"Sunday."
"No, what day is it?"
"Money in the bank," Bella began to connect the dots as she saw more WWE superstars around her, "And it was in Chicago... This isn't what I think it is, is it?"
"It's the afterparty!" Jade squealed, unwilling to continue entertaining her little guessing game.
"Why are we here?" Bella asked. She didn't look as excited as Jade had hoped she would be.
"Remember how I had that famous client I was telling you about?" Jade asked as Bella nodded, "Well. It was Eve Torres, and she invited me and a plus one to the Money in the Bank afterparty."
"I don't understand. How did you go from doing her makeup to- How did we end up here?"
"I'm charming and fun, and I guess she has good taste in people," Jade shrugged.
Bella couldn't argue with that logic. Her best friend had a knack for making friends, and if anyone could get themself invited to a WWE Payperview afterparty, it would be Jade.
"Why are you not over the moon? These are totally your people!"
"Jade. This is really great. I'm just shocked."
Jade could tell her best friend was happy to be there, but she could get pretty nervous in party-like settings when she didn't know a lot of people. Jade, on the other hand, felt right at home wherever there was alcohol or good looking men.
"I know, honey. Let me call Eve," Jade said, giving Bella's shoulder a good squeeze. Bella sent her a small smile.
"Ms. Torres," she sang into the phone, "we're here!"
