Dinner with Bobby and his family wasn't so bad. In fact, it was really freaking awesome. Dean had told Sam that they had patrol first thing in the morning, then Sam had asked if he could pick someone else for a partner. That's where Dean had seen a chance to make fun of his little brother, again.
"Wow Sam, I knew you'd get far, but I didn't think you'd get there in less than a day!" He said with a cocky smirk. This caused me to turn completely red, not noticing that Sam was just the same.
"No," Sam said rolling his eyes. It seemed like this was a common occurrence. "I wanted to show Y/N around the territory."
"Oh, and then you'll get there!" Jo groaned next to me. I looked over to see her head cradled in her hands as if she was the little sister that got caught in the crossfire of her brothers' arguments. In a way, I could relate.
That's when Sam had gotten up and started chasing for the second time in two days with Dean laughing as he ran away. Bobby got to them before they could get anywhere besides a small lap around the table. I was surprised they didn't knock the Beta over when he basically jumped right in front of them, causing them to stop immediately and end up on the floor.
"Now I don't know or care what you two have on your minds or your plans for tomorrow," Bobby said as the two struggled to get up. "I do know we have a few lady's present, three of them being guests." I started to sink into my chair when he brought me into the whole equation. Granted he also brought his mate and daughter into it, but it was clear he was referring more towards me. "With that said, Dean, stop chastising the girl, and give your brother a break. Sam, you'll go on patrol with your brother tomorrow. What you do beyond that, I don't care."
Both boys opened their mouths to say something but the look on Bobby's face said it all. The conversation was over. Afterward, we all finished and Bobby had asked if he could talk to me in private. Much to Sam's surprising discomfort, I did and followed him outside.
"Sorry about those two," He started. "Sometimes they just don't know when to stop and think."
I chuckled and assured him that it wasn't the only time I had experienced a scene like that. "I have an older brother, he's a lot like Dean."
"Ya give him trouble I take it," He chuckled, understanding what siblings go through basically every day.
"Let's just say he's lucky to be alive," I said laughing, remembering a time where I literally almost ripped Y/B/N's throat out. My gaze then fell at the thought of my older brother.
"You miss him," It wasn't a question.
I nodded. "He may be the older brother, but sometimes it felt like our roles got switched. Sometimes I was the one taking care of him, rather than the other way around. I don't know what he'll end up doing when I have to move here and he has to stay back home." I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"I'm sure he'll be fine," Bobby said. "Besides, you'll be able to go and visit him. I'm sure by now you've learned that our pack is a little different than the rest. I'm sure that you'll be allowed to go meet with your brother. Even then, Sam's gonna make sure that you feel at home. And Jo says you, her, and Charlie hit it off pretty well."
I gave him a small smile that he returned. "If ya ever need a break from living with those two idjits in there, I'm sure Jo wouldn't mind havin' ya over."
