Y/N/N= Your nickname
Y/N
"Is this absolutely necessary?"
Dean had taken Cas and me to a spot just at the edge of the territory. Said something about an "initiation" or something. Sam had tagged along, seemingly too supportive of the act. If I'd known then what I know now, I wouldn't have gotten out of bed.
"Yes, Cas, it most definitely is," Dean laughed. "What's the big deal? it's just a race,"
"Around your territory," Cas stated flatly. "You and your brother have an unfair advantage with this being your home. I do not believe Y/N and I have much of a huge chance of beating either of you."
"I don't know about you Cas," Sam piped in. "But Y/N is probably one of the fastest she-wolves I've seen."
"It's still your home advantage, Sam," I said.
"That just makes it all the more fun," Dean said as he crouched down a little, getting ready to bolt back into the tree line. "One lap around the territory. First one to get past this tree," He motions to the tree next to him. "Is the ultimate champ."
I rolled my eyes at his wording, as I too, crouched down.
"No cheating Winchester," I slightly growled at both the sandy brown and dark brown wolves.
"Y/N, you wound me," Dean said, acting as if he was actually hurt. "Why would I cheat on my own turf?"
"Because you always have," Sam chuckled.
"Well that's reassuring," I replied.
"In what way is that reassuring?" Cas asked.
"That was sarcasm Cas," Sam pointed out.
"Hey, it's not his fault the Raj pack was raised to be emotionless soldiers," Dean argued.
"Can we just get this done? It's like three in the morning and I want to go back to bed," I said slightly annoyed.
"It's actually five in the morning sleeping beauty," Sam teased.
"Alright let's get this done before I puke because of you two," Dean said.
"You mean like how you make me feel when you're talking about Cas?" Sam whispered so only I could hear, causing me to giggle.
"Ready. Set." Dean paused. "GO!"
The four of us bolted back into the tree line and followed it along the edge. Part of me thinks that the only reason Dean decided to do this today was because it had just rained the day before, causing it to be a little muddy and slippery. The two brothers were in the front with Dean leading. I was just behind Cas who wasn't too far behind Sam. This wasn't looking good for the girl in the group. Especially when I've been here a little longer than Cas.
The squishy mud felt heavy as it clung to my paws. Jumping over logs or fallen trees wasn't easy as a result. Cas fell behind after he jumped over a tree that was leaning against another instead of going under. At least at this rate I won't be last. Eventually, I caught up with Sam, who gave a small smirk as I tried to pass him.
"Remind me how this is supposed to be initiation," I panted slightly.
"I couldn't tell you to save my life," He replied while giving a slight chuckle, despite the circumstances. After a slight struggle, I got past Sam and caught up with Dean. He didn't seem to notice I was even close to him until I said something.
