Reminder: I have no clue any details about Percy Jackson (book or movie). Hopefully some things are correct, but let's be honest, I have no idea what I'm writing about.
------------------------------------------------------
It was my first day at summer camp. My father, who I am real chill with, thought it would be good for me to go to Camp Half Blood. Since my father is Poseidon and my mother is...a mere human...puny.
I walked to some camp counselors and they asked for my name, "Uh, isn't it obvious?" I flipped some hair back, "I'm Percy Jackson." They smiled awkwardly and the girl told me that I was assigned to Poseidon's house. "Oh sweet, that's my dad you know!" I fixed my backpack on my shoulder and found my way to the cabins. It was only me and one other guy. I put my backpack down on a bed and went over to him, "Yo, what's up, I'm Percy."
"The name is Jason." He continued to put his clothes in the drawer next to the bed he picked. Another guy walked in, but I didn't bother talking to him, he wasn't as cool as Jason was. Jason and I just...vibed. I glanced over to him and he was focused solely on putting his clothes away. Classic, he acts like nothing is bothering him, but I know deep down, he is thinking back to seconds ago when we vibed together.
It was orientation time, we were all gathered around a stage but divided up by our respectful houses. Jason was reading a book, but I know that it was just because we were taking our friendship slow. They dismissed us to dinner and Jason and I sat at a table with chicken nuggets on the trays in front of us. "Hey man, isn't that girl over there cute." Jason was still reading his book and I was getting sick of the slow friendship process.
"Man, I don't know, I don't know anything about her." Okay, Jason lost 2 cool points for that. You don't have to know a girl to think she's cute. She got up and was walking her tray over to the trashcans, and on her way she passed us. I nudged Jason as I wanted his attention on how smooth I am with the ladies. She was making her way back to her table and I stopped her.
"Hey, what's up, sweetheart?" She glared at me and I almost got scared, "What makes you think I'm into you, ugh, boys are so nasty. Only wanting one thing." She crossed her arms and went back to her table.
"Nice going, man. That worked splendidly." Jason returned to his book. No girl has ever treated me this way. Maybe I should try again? I got up and went to her table. "So, I didn't catch your name. I'm Percy." The whole table went silent, no the whole cafeteria. All eyes were on us.
The girl slowly got up and with one swift movement a tray made contact with the right side of my face. It instantly started to tingle and she returned to her seat. I couldn't stand the embarrassment, I left the cafeteria and sat outside on a bench.
"So, it looks like you met Annabeth." I looked up to a man with one eye and a bird girl. Their arms were wrapped one another's and they were taking a stroll around the camp. "I'm Tyson, and this is Ella. Off-limits, though."
"Dude, why did you think I would take your girlfriend?" They gave me a look and I realized, it was because I apparently tried to woo the angriest girl at Camp Half Blood. Just then, Jason came outside and exchanged greetings with Tyson and Ella. He then told me that we should get ready for bed, since tomorrow will be a big day.
We walked to the cabin in silence but as we were getting under the covers of our beds, he started laughing. I sat up and asked what was so funny. Through giggles, he sighed, "The way that tray hit your face. Golden!" I laid back in bed, defeated. What a great first impression on everyone at Camp Half Blood.
