"𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗛𝗘𝗥 charts when we didn't start the trials? There's a very big significant difference especially the brain scans. Minho's Flaralase is really working. It could inhibit the growth of the virus," I said as I paced back and forth in our office.

Teresa giggled and Dominic observed the printed data on his hands, mouth breaking into a grin.

"This is a breakthrough!" he announced, "I call this champagne-worthy."

"'Champagne-worthy'? That's dramatic, Dom," said Teresa as Dominic grabbed the bottle of champagne from the fridge and opened it with a loud pop. He poured three glasses and handed them to us.

"I-I don't drink," Teresa tried to refuse but he just insisted more.

I accepted the glass with a smile and he winked as a reply. I found myself trying to suppress my grin and my cheeks started heating up like I just drained the champagne bottle.

"To us, who discovered the potential cure," he raised his glass and we followed in suit. "And to Subject A7, for his powerful Flaralase."

We clinked our glasses and took a sip. The champagne slowly burning my throat as it passed my lips, like a chaste kiss lingering there, making you to want more. It's been ages since the last time I took an alcoholic drink.

Teresa and I talked about what happened to Shai earlier, brainstorming on the possible reasons and coming up with complex questions. On the other hand, Dominic rummaged on the other side of the bookshelves and pulled out a black and white album. He inserted the CD inside the player and skipped five tracks, finally resting in one that sounds like a song recorded from the disco.

        I want you to know
        I'm a mirrorball
I'll show you every version of yourself tonight

He swayed slowly on the rhythm and stopped in front of me. "Care to dance?"

I scoffed, "No. No... I'm a horrible dancer."

But he pulled me up from my seat, making Teresa laugh. He placed his hand on my waist while he instructed me to put mine around his neck, then we started to sway along the music.

Hush, when no one is around, my dear
You'll find me on my tallest tip-toes
Spinning in my highest heels, love
        Shining just for you

"How old is this song?" I laughed after he spun me around.

"Just 21st century old."

         I want you to know
        I'm a mirrorball
I can change everything about me to fit in

Dominic started to lean closer, his breath hot on my cheeks. His eyes were enthralling that made me lost in his blue irises that I saw myself drowning in the ocean.

You are not like the regulars
        The masquerade revelers
Drunk as they watch my shattered edges glisten

Then I saw him. Blonde hair glistening like a star under the moonlight as I screamed for help. He locked eyes with mine before diving head-first in the water, trying to save me. Minutes passed but he haven't resurfaced. He's out of sight and I couldn't feel his presence around or under me that I started to panic.
