Stuck In High School with One Direction

Chapter Three

It was chilly when I woke up the next morning. I snuggled with my teddy bear some more. For some reason it felt warmer... And had no fur at all. My brain was too tired to comprehend anything so I buried my face into my teddy bear and then shot straight up when I felt it's pulse. I had been cuddling with Harry.

My eyes widened and I looked around to see if anyone had seen me and there sat Maddie, her phone in her hand and a devilish smile on her face. She turned her phone screen to show me the picture of Harry holding me in his arms, my face buried in his shoulder and his head resting on mine. I groaned and threw her with a pillow.

"So did everybody sleep well?" Olivia asked, as we all waited for Diana, Zayn and Liam to finish making the chicken nuggets and fries for breakfast.

"Yes, it's just a bit chilly isn't it?" Louis said, shoving his hands in his hoodie pocket.

"Well Riley and Harry didn't seem to be cold," Maddie remarked, wiggling her eyebrows at me. I groaned and put my hoodie cap on my head, drawing the strings so that my face was hidden.

"What?" I heard Niall say, and I layed my head on the table.

"They seemed quite comfortable,"

I lifted up my head, showing my face once again and narrowed my eyes at her. She was showing everyone the picture. They all laughed.

"I thought he was a teddy bear okay," I mutter, rolling my eyes.

Harry was nervously eyeing me.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, I mean I was cold and I was sleeping I didn't even know I did it!" He babbled and I gave him a smile.

"It's okay Harry, really." I sighed. Finally Liam, Diana and Zayn brought us the food and we all helped ourselves.

"Hey, did you guys see Riley and Harry?" Maddie offered me a huge smile, before showing them the picture.

"Sooooo, what's going on between you and Harry?" Diana questioned, with a raised eyebrow. I laughed.

"Nothing!" I said after spitting out my toothpaste.

"If you say so."

We were all in the girls bathroom, taking turns to shower and brush our teeth since there was only 3 sinks and 3 showers.

"What are we doing today? It's too cold to go swimming." Maddie pouted, wrapping a towel around herself.

"I guess we could watch some movies and chill. Maybe it'll get warmer later." Olivia suggested. "It's only 11am anyway." She added, slipping into her red sweatpants and matching hoodie.

I got ready to hop in the shower.

"If it doesn't get warmer, I'm breaking out, I refuse to sit around all day!" Maddie moaned, pulling on her black leggings.

The warm water felt really good on my cold skin. I washed my hair, forgetting how dry hair gets if chlorine is left in it for too long.

"I mean, we could play hide and seek or something?" Georgia spoke up. She really wasn't much of a morning person and usually doesn't speak until after 12. She pulled a green sweater over her head and then started combing through her hair.

"Hide and seek? I mean, I guess that should be fun." Diana agreed, hopping into a shower.

"Hey, Riley? Do you have that pink sweater? I'd like to wear it today, it's so cosy." Maddie asked, and I could practically hear her puppy eyes.

"In my suitcase," I answered, conditioning my hair so that it felt super soft once again.

"Thank you, darling."

I got out of the shower and smiled at the sight of her in the sweater. It compliments her blonde hair and blue eyes perfectly. I dried off and slipped on black sweatpants with the matching hoodie. I plaited my hair in double dutch braids and just put on a little bit of mascara and lipgloss.

"Ooooh, Riley, you should try this new lipgloss I bought! It gives the cutest sparkle!" Diana pulled out a tube of lipgloss out of her purple hoodie. I wiped off mine and put on hers.

"This is super cute! Where did you get it?" I admired my lips that now had a slight pink tint to it.

"Keep it, I'll get a new one." She waved me off. We gathered our things and went to go meet the boys in the library.

When we got there, the mattresses and bean bags were all organized into one big bed filled with blankets and pillows. Even the two couches had blankets and pillows.

"Welcome, to our humble abode." Niall bowed and gestured to the heap. It looked really comfortable.

"We all brought snacks, so we thought we could have a nice movie day." Zayn pointed at the pile of chips, sodas and sweets.

"And you kept this from us... Because?" Georgia questioned, hands on her hips.

"We wanted to make sure we trusted you guys, and you all seem pretty chilled," Louis offered with a smile on his face that suggested that we should feel really honored to receive that compliment.

"Well, what are we waiting for then?" Maddie leaped into the pile of pillows.

"Why don't we get something hot to drink?" Diana asked, I nodded my head.

"I'll come with you."

"Me too," Zayn piped up.

"Me three!" Harry got up.

"We'll look for a good movie," Olivia said, scrolling through my list of movies

The four of us found a big jug and made some nice hot chocolate. Harry found some popcorn so we made that and Diana found styrofoam cups for the hot chocolate. Zayn went on the hunt for some butter spice for the popcorn.

"I wonder if it'll be nice and warm tonight so we can at least take a dip in the pool," I said, stirring the hot chocolate mixture.

"Yeah, me too." Harry said, rubbing the back of his neck. "Listen, about last night... I'm really sorry if I made you uncomfortable."

"Don't worry about it, really. It was okay."

"I FOUND THE SPICE!" Zayn yelled, before throwing it all over the huge bowl of popcorn.

"For what it's worth," Harry said softly, picking up the jug of hot chocolate. "I wouldn't mind doing it again. You're pretty warm. I mean this in the friendliest way possible."

"Thanks Harry," I laughed. We made our way back to the library where everyone was sprawled out on the giant bed they had made. I helped Harry pour everyone a nice cup of hot chocolate and Zayn sat in the middle of the bed, already munching on the popcorn.

Olivia put on Pitch Perfect and we all settled down. Zayn, Niall and Louis devoured the popcorn while Olivia and Maddie finished three bags of chips. Liam, Harry and myself ate almost all the chocolate and Georgia and Diana drank most of the hot chocolate. All in all you could say we were pretty full as we layed spread out, happy as can be.

That's when we heard it, a loud bang. It sounded very familiar almost like...

"The school door just opened," Liam muttered, panic evident in his eyes.

"What do we do now?" Diana whispered, her voice shaking.

"We play hide and seek," Georgia said, and I almost burst out laughing because that was what she suggested we do this morning. Who knew it would come true?

We heard voices and footsteps. We looked at each other with so much fear on our faces it was almost comical.
