I tossed my backpack in the backseat of my car and stretched. I was still exhausted even though I'd mostly slept the last few days.
I got into my car and texted my friends to let them know I'm on my way.
"Good morning sleepyhead!" Maddie climbed into the car , smiling.
"Someone's full of energy," I yawned, backing out of her driveway.
"Redbull my friend, redbull."
We picked up everybody else and then stopped at the Starbucks drive through. I ordered our drinks and got us each a breakfast croissant.
"You're amazing," Diana grinned, biting into her croissant. We sat in the parking lot and had our breakfast in silence
"Alright," I said, wiping my hands on a napkin "Time to get going."
I put on some music and drove us to school. We got there just as the bell rang.
"Perfect timing," Olivia said, jumping out of the car. I chuckled as Diana and Georgia ran into school. They hated being late.
Maddie, Oliva and I took a stroll to class, because unfortunately we couldn't care less.
__
"Hey, guys!" Louis jogged up to us. It was after second period, and we were all gathered around the drinking fountain.
"Hey, you!" Maddie smiled, ruffling his hair.
"What are you guys doing this weekend?" he questioned, fixing his hair thoughtlessly.
"Well I'm not doing anything, are you guys?" Diana said, looking around at all of us as we all shook our heads.
"Great, we're going on a hike!"
"Wait, what?" my eyes widened. Who would willingly walk up a mountain?
"A hike! I'll text you the details, but we're meeting up at a hotel on Friday night and we'll be hiking before the sun rises!"
"Why are you so excited about walking up a mountain in the dark?" Georgia questioned, her eyebrow raised.
"Fun, my friends, fun." Louis replies, walking off.
"We didnt agree to this!" Olivia yelled.
"Make sure to take a nap Friday afternoon so that you're all rested!" Louis yelled back, before he turned a corner.
"Great," I mumbled, yawning.
"I'm sure it'll be fun!" Diana smiles, taking Maddie by the hand. "Now come on, we have class.
"Yay," Maddie mumbles, sarcastically.
"Catch you guys at lunch." I wave them off, walking off to my drama period.
__
"It's so weird being back here, you know, with people around us." Georgia giggles, setting her tray of food down at our regular table. I chew on my slice of pizza, that tasted like cardboard.
"This doesn't taste the same anymore." I sighed, pushing my tray to the side.
"It's just not the same." Maddie agrees, popping a grape in her mouth. "Even the fruit tastes gross."
"The fruit has always been gross to be fair." Diana speaks up, holding up her apple.
"Room for 5 more?" we hear Harry say before he plops into the chair next to me.
"No not really," Diana rolls her eyes, scooting her chair to the side. Louis sits down next to her.
"Oh come on love, there's plenty of space for us all."
Some of the boys grabbed chairs from other tables and put them around our table.
"Tired of your own table?" I teased, throwing a piece of pizza crust at Harry.
"We'd much rather spend time with you guys." He winked, playfully shoving my arm.
I could feel some people staring at us, and when I looked up a group of girls were staring us down.
Not to get all high-school cliché over here but, they were the 'mean girls' of our school. Fabulous and somehow popular even though nobody likes them so it doesnt really make sense as to why they're popular. Like who actually likes them? They're probably hiding. Everyone either hates them or is scared of them. So it doesnt really make sense to me. Moving on...
They were a group of 4 girls. They wear matching or similar clothes, always have their makeup done and their hair is always so neat and pretty. Like I make an effort when I get dressed for school but they make me feel like a slob.
"Uh oh, the wannabee's are staring at us." Olivia sighed. That was our nickname for them.
"Damnit boys, it's our last year of high-school and you're stirring up drama."
"Emma probably has a crush on one of them and she's plotting our downfall but the boys are too loyal to us to actually leave us for them so she gets upset and we win prom King and Queen." Maddie says. We all stare at her blankly.
"Typical high-school drama storyline." she shrugs, leaning back in her chair. We still all stared at her.
"The word you're looking for is... Anyways" Louis coughs, stretching his arms.
"That type of stuff only happens in movies," Diana rolls her eyes. "They're probably just surprised we're talking and then they're going to move on with their lives because that's what happens in reality."
"Somehow, I'm not so sure of that." Niall furrows his brows, his eyes still on the group of girls watching us.
