Stuck In High School with One Direction

Chapter Four

We all moved fast to block the library door from opening using the couches. We heard footsteps up and down the hallway.

"It's the cleaners, they come to clean the school every Saturday. I see them everytime I'm here for extra classes" Diana explained in a hushed voice. "they shouldn't be here for long, an hour or two at most."

We all settled down on the mattresses and beanbags. Niall pouted.

"What's wrong Niall?" Maddie asked.

"I'm hungry," he groaned.

We tried talking softly, but every now and again we'd forget why we were whispering and start giggling loudly.

"We'd definitely die in a horror movie," Liam whispered, munching on leftover chips.

We all jumped when somebody attempted to open the library door.

"Looks like something is blocking it." we heard a voice say. At this point we were all holding our breath. The person on the other side started bodyslamming against the door. The couches moved slightly.

"Hey it's moving, keep trying." another voice urged. We all looked at each other in panic, we had no idea what would happen if we were caught. The voices started chatting, we couldn't hear what they were saying but it sounded like idle gossip. We had some time.

Louis glanced at the window and smirked. How did we not notice there's a WINDOW? We'd end up at the back of the school, which was just a big field surrounded by a fence.

He ran over to it and opened the window, glancing down.

"It's a jump into a bush," he stated before climbing out the window and lowering himself, holding onto the windowsill before letting go. We heard a soft "hmph" and he crawled out of the bush. "It hurts for a second. You'll be fine"

The two men outside started laughing. Liam jumped out the window, followed by Niall and Harry.

"Alright, let's get this door open," we heard which made Zayn half leap out of the window. Maddie jumped out quickly as well as we heard the guy bodyslam the door once more. The couches were heavy but it moved another inch.

"my laptop," I gasped, grabbing my laptop just as Diana jumped out. Georgia scrambled to see if there was anything else left behind that could potentially expose the fact that we were here. I took a deep breath as I dropped my laptop into the bush. "Please be okay," I whispered as Maddie pulled it out. Well it was still in one piece.

I lowered myself out of the window, as the door was bodyslammed again. This time the couches moved abit further. If they peeked in they could probably see us. I dropped myself into the bush. The wind was almost knocked out of me but I quickly jumped up so that Georgia could jump.

Another bodyslam, we heard the couches screech in response. Georgia held onto the window, and pulled it closed as she lowered herself. Her arms shook, and she looked close to tears as she dropped herself down.

"You're okay, it's okay." I helped her out of the bush and brushed her off. She wiped away her tears quickly.

"Well, I guess we could chill over here." Liam said, joining Louis and Zayn who was sitting on the floor. We heard them moving stuff around in the library.

"They're probably so confused as to why the library looks like that." Harry said, as we all sat in a circle on the floor.

"Well let's just hope they don't look out the window."  Oliva huffed, wrapping her arms around herself. It was still abit chilly.

"We'll just have to wait it out."

And so we sat there for what felt like hours in hushed whispers, hoping to not get caught. Eventually it went silent.
