Stuck In High School with One Direction

Chapter Five

When we woke up, we were all in a slightly bad mood. We didn't want to leave. Being locked up here, was like our own secret world. We didn't do much except sleep and eat but it was still really fun.

"Let's make today a good one," I spoke up, grinning at everyone. "come on! Let's get into our bathing suits and go swim!"

"Yeah, we can have a big lunch after!" Louis said. "the bus only comes back at 5, it's only 10am we have a whole day infront of us!"

And with those words we scrambled to get into our bathing suits and sprinted to the pool.

We all jumped in, splashing each other and having races.

"ZAYN'S OUT!" Louis yelled, splashing Zayn with water.

"Only because I can't swim!" Zayn huffed, laughing as he splashed Louis back.

He then proceeded to try and doggy paddle his way to the wall. After a few hours of playing in the pool we finally decided to have some lunch.

"I'm starving," Olivia groaned, wrapping a towel around her shivering body.

"I'm making chicken nuggets!" Liam said, shaking out his hair. We all made our way to the kitchen. The clock on the wall said it was now 2pm.

"The bus is coming at 5, we should get ready and clean up after lunch," Diana suggested as Niall started making the fries.

"We can go start on packing some things while you guys make lunch," I suggested. The others agreed with me and we went off to go pack while Diana, Liam and Niall made lunch.

We packed all our stuff and Diana, Liam and Nialls. We folded up the blankets from the nurses office and put them back along with the mattresses. We threw away all our trash and just as we finished, Liam called us over for lunch.

We ate in a silence. It wasn't awkward, it was kind of comfortable. It felt like we were all thinking about what happens next. If we were going to go back to not talking to each other or not. And if we did become friends, would this dynamic keep up when we weren't stuck inside of a building together?

Louis was the first to break the silence.

"We should hangout after this, you know, in the outside world."

I snorted, stifling a giggle. "Yeah, we should,"

"This weekend, we'll go to the mall and eat somewhere." Maddie suggested.

"Sounds good to me," Harry shrugged. We all smiled at each other, a new found friendship blossoming. It felt kind of like when you met a new friend at camp. And you're just worried about losing them and never seeing them again. Only this time we knew we were going to see each other again.

"We should go shower and get changed," Maddie said, gathering everyone's plates.

"We'll wash the dishes and throw away the trash, you guys go ahead" Zayn said, shooing us all away.

I took a long, hot shower. So long that Maddie was back just as I finished up washing my hair. I detangled it and put on a palm full of conditioner before leaving it loose and curly.

I pulled on a pair of baggy jeans and a tight fitting white tank top with my white air force. Diana had a pink sweater on with black leggings and her converse. Maddie dressed up in a blue summery dress with her birkenstocks. Georgia smoothed out her baggy red top over her skinny jeans and laced up her doc martens while Oliva put on cycling shorts, a sports bra and air forces.

We all packed up our toiletries and went to the library, waiting for the bus to show up outside. While waiting we all exchanged numbers.

Eventually we heard the school doors open and kids talking. We all grabbed our bags and slipped into the crowd. I looked back to catch a glimpse of the boys, a slight smile on my lips. I waved before unlocking my car door, the girls and I hurried to cram our stuff into the boot and then climbed into the car.
