Jaemin was now running, his eyes traveling around the area around him hoping to see Iseul's frame. But the woods were dark, and he couldn't see the girl anywhere. He was about to yell her name once more when he heard the faint sound of voices on his right.
He walked, following the voices and finally he saw her. A wave of relief rushed over him, and he let out a sigh. But the feeling was short-lived when he enventually noticed the two men who were facing her. Jaemin was ready to come out of his natural hiding spot behind bushes, but stopped himself when he heard Iseul speak.
The girl was still pressed against the tree, her heart rate increasing. But it wasn't fear she was feeling, more like... adrenaline. The familiar emotion made her blood boil, and her mind race.
"What agreement?" she spoke up.
"Oh she can speak," one of them laughed. "Well, if you can give us some information about NCT, maybe we'll consider not hurting you too badly..."
Iseul scoffed, "Excuse me?"
"Listen here, it's a fair trade, really. You tell us everything you know about NCT, and we let you live," the other one smiled like a creep.
He started to walk closer to her, and Iseul's brain was racing, trying to come up with something. Seeing as the distance between them was rapidly reducing, she had an idea. She slowly detached herself from the tree, and took a step back as the man with the knife was approaching her, letting herself fall backwards, her head almost hitting the ground.
She took advantage of her position to look for anything she could use as a weapon to defend herself.
"Look at that," one of the men laughed. "Are you scared? Don't worry, you won't suffer too much, but only if you can give us what we want on NCT."
Jaemin was about to stand up and go help her when he saw her crawling on the ground, but a part of him wanted to know her answer. Was she going to stab them in the back?
"No thank you," she spat when she could finally reach for a solid piece of wood behind her. "I'd rather take my chance and kick your ass."
Jaemin's brain didn't comprehend what was going on right away, everything happened so fast, but as soon as he realized, his eyes widen in shock. Jeno was right, Iseul did know how to fight.
The girl had jumped back on her feet so quick even the two men didn't see her coming. She firmly held the piece of wood before slamming it on the man's face.
He held his face where the wood had made his skin bloody with a yelp of pain, and Iseul took advantage of his partner's shock to kick him in the stomach with her foot. The man fell backwards, hitting his head on a tree, and he stayed on the ground, knocked out.
But the first one, who had dropped his knife came back to his senses, half of his face covered in his own blood. He picked his weapon up from the ground, and with a yell, jumped on Iseul.
The girl tried to kick him where she could, but the man was twice her size, and soon she had been violently pushed against a tree, the back of her head hitting it. She could feel thick liquid starting to stick to her hair, and despite her dizziness, she was pretty sure it wasn't sap.
The man had her pinned up against the tree, and he started to dangerously bring the knife closer to her face.
"You bitch," he spat, and she could feel his stinky breath on her face. "We wanted to kidnap you so we could make your father pay, but now killing his precious daughter seems like a better idea."
Jaemin stood up from his hideout, ready to go help his friend when he noticed the second man slowly coming back to his senses. He grabbed the nearest branch and tapped on the man's shoulder. As soon as his turned back, Jaemin strongly hit him with his newly found weapon, and he was pretty sure he heard the sound of his nose breaking.
The man who was still keeping Iseul against the tree took out a phone, and as he was closely observing the girl, he made a call.
"Bring your asses down here, we found something better than what we came for. I need help to bring Kang's bitch of a daughter to the base, she's a feisty one."
His eyes never left Iseul's as he spoke, but she didn't look away either. She wanted him to know that she wasn't scared. Well, a part of her still was, she was in a really bad position and a knife was threatening her throat, after all, but she didn't want to give him that satisfaction.
In less than five minute, three other men appeared next to them, and Iseul let her eyes travel to her left, where she noticed Jaemin, dragging the first man's body behind bushes.
He quietly signaled for her not to react, and she slightly nodded.
The men started to get close to her and the other guy, and two of them grabbed her arms. When the second the man moved his knife away from her face to let his partners get a hold of her, she kicked him between the legs, and he fell in the dirt, cursing at her.
Jaemin took advantage of the situation to attack one of the men who was holding Iseul, and she bit the hand of the other, making him yelp in pain and remove his hand from her. The man fighting Jaemin hit him in the face, and he fell backwards, next to the bushes he was previously hiding in.
As he was trying to get back on his feet, a muffled voice reached his ears.
"Jaemin? Where the hell are you, why do you not answer anymore!"
That was Renjun's voice, still on the line. Jaemin's phone was next to him, he must have dropped it when he found Iseul, too absorbed by the situation she was in.
He looked behind his shoulder to make sure the man that had hit him wasn't here, and quickly grabbed his phone.
"Renjun, we've been attacked, send backups, now!"
His brother reacted right away, without wasting time, and ran through the house to reach the emergency alarm. Suddenly, a red light and a piercing sound resonated in the mansion, signaling someone had invided their territory.
"What part of the woods?" Renjun urged, already meeting the others in the armory.
"Third section," Jaemin replied, before getting up to help Iseul. The girl was trying to defend herself, but they were two against her and no matter how skilled she was, she was having a hard time.
The Dreamies, Lucas and Mark were the only ones left at the mansion, and they ran out to the woods once they could grab a few weapons.
