Iseul was unconscious. Her father had drugged her so she wouldn't be hard to move around, and he took her to one of Park's residences.

He had been kind enough to offer the location himself, and in exchange, he only had one request. Park had asked him to name him as his successor instead of Iseul.

Kang didn't have to think about it for long. Iseul had always been the only heir to his empire, but now that his own blood had turned against him, he didn't have anyone to leave his company to. Park was the perfect replacement, and so he had agreed to make him the new heir.

When Iseul finally woke up, she didn't recognize the room she was in. Her head hurt and it took a minute for her vision to become clear again. She tried to get up from the bed she was in, but her legs almost gave up on her, and she had to steady herself by leaning on the wall.

When she eventually reached the door, she realized that it was locked. She was trapped. Her heart started to beat faster as she turned around, observing the room she was in. It was plain, but not old. The walls were a dark shade of gray, and the windows were covered with white curtains.

The windows, Iseul thought. She pushed the thin material and tried to open the window, without much luck. Locked too, of course.

Iseul looked around to try to find something she could use to break the glass, and her eyes landed on the coat rack next to the door. That could work, she thought.

She grabbed it and was about to throw it at the window when the door flew open.

"Don't even waste your strength," her father's voice spoke from behind her. "They're unbreakable."

Iseul almost let down the coat rack in surprise.

"Where am I?"

"Far away from NCT, if that's what you're wondering."

Iseul didn't have any weapon on her, so she pointed the object in her hands at her father threateningly. He just laughed at her face.

"Really? A coat rack?"

"What do you want from me?"

"How could you turn on me? Your own father?"

She scoffed, but didn't let go of the only weapon she had, "You disgust me, you've killed people!"

Kang let out a sacracstic laugh that sent chills down her back, "And what exactly do you think it is that your new friends do, honey? Because if you think they're better than me, boy do I have some news for you... they might be kind and gentle with you, they might even seem like your friends and make you laugh, but you've never really seen them do their job, have you? You've never seen them kill?"

Iseul's heart ached, and she clenched her fists on the wooden material in her hands. She knew a part of what her father was saying was true. No matter how hard she'd try to deny it, they were criminals. They were part of the mafia.

"Maybe," she hurtfully admitted. "But they're worth so much than you! They have values, and don't hurt innocents. They have a code, and stand by it. It's something called honor, you probably have never heard of it! You've destroyed so many people, so many lives...."

Her anger slowly turned into sadness, "I can't believe all this time I've been living with someone who just destroyed other families. How many of them?"

"I've done things one would consider as bad, yes, but it was only so you could live a happy life!"

Iseul scoffed, and wanted to throw up, "Don't you dare use me as an excuse," she spat.

"I wanted you to become the next head of our company, just like I was my father's successor," Kang explained, hoping to see his daughter change her mind.

"I'd rather die than taking over your dirty company!"

Her father's face suddenly changed, and so did the look in his eyes. Iseul started to get scared at the sudden change, and instinctively stepped back.

"I wish it would end up differently, my dear daughter, but it seems you made your choice."

He reached foot his back and grabbed a gun, before pointing it at his daughter's forehead, mirroring her own actions the day before.

Iseul's heart was racing and pounding in her chest, her breathing became heavy and her blood was pulsing through her veins. Was this really the end for her? Was this how she was going to die? By the hand of her own father?

She had nothing to defend herself with. The coat rack in her hands wouldn't do much against a gun, and she closed her eyes, her mind directly wandering to NCT. If only she could have said goodbye...

Kang slowly pressed his finger on the trigger, and the gunshot resonated through the entire house.

Iseul didn't feel anything. Was she already dead?

"What- How- How did you find us?"

The voice of her father reached her ears, and she knew for sure she wasn't in Heaven. She opened one eye after the other, only to see Taeyong standing in the doorframe, twisting Kang's arm. The gun was pointed at the roof, and Iseul noticed the hole created by the bullet.

"Are you alright?" Taeyong asked, his eyes focused on Kang.

Iseul knew he was talking to her, and she had never been so happy to see him, "Yes," she spoke.

Truth was, she wasn't. How could she be alright after the traumatizing experience? Her own father had tried to kill her.

"Go downstairs, the others are waiting for you," he spoke still not looking at her.

Iseul wanted to protest, to stay with him. But she knew he wouldn't let her. He wanted to kill Kang himself, far from her eyes. Taeyong didn't want her to have the murder of her father weighting on her conscience. He didn't want her to live with the guilt. She had never killed before; it was already traumatizing in itself. But killing someone like her father? It would end her. So he'd do it for her. He'd kill her father in her name.

Iseul nodded, and put back the coat rack where she had found it. She passed by her father, whose look she couldn't read. His eyes were showing different emotions, fear, anger, sadness...

She didn't say a word, she wanted to save her breath, and as she brushed past Taeyong to leave the room, she did something none of them saw coming.

She grabbed Taeyong's gun, that was attached in his back by a belt, and this time, she pulled the trigger, the bullet hitting her father right between the eyes.
