Iseul stood next to the car, surrounded by NCT 127 and U, confused as hell. She knew they were probably receiving information coming from Taeil, but she had no idea what it was about, so she had to focus her attention on their reactions. She observed their facial expressions closely, and noted than most of them were taken aback.
Taeyong's face, however, remained as cold as ice. However, she knew him well enough now to see a glimpse of madness in his eyes. She was almost used to it, now, but it still scared her as much as it did the first time he looked at her like that, though.
"I'll go," he finally spoke.
The line between them and Taeil seemed to be cut as they all took their earpieces off, and it didn't take long for them to react to his decision.
"Taeyong, you can't do that," Johnny began and some nodded.
"I can and I will."
"This is ridiculous, hyung," Doyoung spoke. "For all we know this could be a trap."
"He's expecting me, let's not disappoint him."
Iseul turned to Jeno who sat on the passenger seat, his legs out of the car as the door was opened. By daylight, his wounds seemed even worse.
"Are you alright?" Iseul softly asked. "You guys should just go already so you can get treatment for your bruises and cuts," she sighed.
Jeno smiled a little at her worry, "I'm fine, I've seen worse, trust me."
"Is this supposed to make me feel better?" she scoffed.
"It's nothing, Iseul, stop worrying about me."
He gently grabbed her hand in his, and played with her fingers. She crouched down next to him, and they stayed without speaking for a bit. Out of a sudden, Jeno leaned his head closer to hers, until she could feel his breath against her skin, and he delicately kissed her cheek.
Iseul felt her face grow red, not sure if what she felt really happened. It had been so quick and so light, almost like an illusion.
But not fast enough for Taeyong not to see it, and the man felt himself boil with rage for some reason. He looked away, not bearing the scene that happened right in front of his eyes.
Completely oblivious to the man's reaction, Iseul looked at Jeno.
"What was that for?" she asked, her voice almost inaudible.
Jeno shrugged, "I didn't have the time to thank you for helping me escape," he truthfully answered, looking at her right in the eye.
The stare made her feel uncomfortable and self-conscious, and she looked away.
"You guys should just go already, why are we staying here?" she changed the subject.
"Taeil-hyung said your father wanted to see Taeyong-hyung to settle an exchange between him and I."
"What?"
"Taeyong-hyung said he'd go."
Iseul stayed quiet. She didn't know what to say. That was such a stupid move.
But Taeyong didn't seem to care as he made a step towards Lucas. "I'm borrowing your bike, you don't mind?"
The younger didn't budge, not really knowing what to do.
Taeyong had extended his hand, waiting for Lucas to give him the keys. "Lucas," his voice was almost threatening, and the other let out a sigh before reaching for his keys in his back pocket and giving them to his leader.
"You can take my seat in Yuta's car."
Lucas nodded, "Don't take any useless risk."
"I'm not sure you should do this, hyung," Doyoung said. "Why don't we just go back to the headquarters and plan all this?"
Taeyong let out a dry chuckle, "And wait even more until they make their next move? We were lucky to get both Iseul and Jeno this time, who knows what they could do next. I'm ending this."
"Fine," Doyoung surrendered. "But keep in mind that you'll be on his territory, he has the upper hand."
Iseul got up and got closer to them, "I'm coming too."
They turned to her, and Taeyong crossed his arms on his chest.
"No, you're not."
She scoffed, "That's my father we're talking about, you'd have an advantage taking me with you," she spoke. "And besides, there isn't any seat left for me in any of the cars, you guys forgot to count me in when you left the headquarters. The only way for me to go back is with you."
"I mean, the girl has a point," Yuta agreed as he head-counted the members. "We didn't count right, and every seat's taken."
"Then she'll just go in the truck or something," Taeyong raised his arms in exasperation. "But you're not coming, and that's final." He stared at her intensely.
"You can come sit on my lap just the time of the ride back home if you want," Jeno offered with a shrug.
Taeyong's face turned red and he opened his mouth to say something, but closed it right away. Now was not the time, the clock was ticking, and he had a rendezvous to go to.
"At least tell me where my father asked to meet you so I can give you minimum info on the place," Iseul sighed.
Taeyong grabbed his phone and handed it to the girl. The screen was completely shattered, making it almost impossible for her to read the address.
"What happened to your phone?" she asked, looking at the broken screen.
The members all shared a look, and Taeyong shrugged nervously, "It fell."
Iseul didn't believe him, but didn't ask more questions, as the address she was reading suddenly reached her brain.
"Actually, you know what? I'm coming with you," seeing as Taeyong was about to protest, she didn't let him speak, "and that, whether you like or not."
"Why? Do you know the place?" Jaehyun asked.
"Of course I do," she replied. "It's our second residence. And I own it."
