I quickly took him to the bedroom and laid him down. I was panicked, should I pulled out the knife?! Call an ambulance?!
I was pull out of my thoughts when I heard Rouge calling me.
"Sonic, we stop searching him for tod-"
"I FOUND HIM!!!"
"W-What?!"
"L-listen, I really don't know where I am! B-but I found Shadow in some old house! H-he stabbed himself a-and I don't know what to do!!"
".... Don't do anything..."
"W-What are you saying?!!"
"just stay next to him.... I'm coming just.... Don't call anyone... And if the agents call you, tell them you didn't find him...."
She hung up.
I was completely lost... Why would Rouge tell me to do nothing?! And how does she know where I am?!
I was hugging Shadow tightly when I heard someone coming in. It was Rouge.
"Sonic, you should get out..."
"not without any explanations!"
We then heard moans of pain coming from Shadow, he was trying to remove the knife.
Rouge ran to him and held the knife.
"Are you starting to heal?"
"Y-yes.... *cough cough*"

The white bat slided two fingers in the wound, stopping the haemorrhage. She then took out the knife. The ebony hedgehog was screaming in pain, scaring the blue one.
"Rouge stop! It's hurting him!!"
"I know... But I can't help it..."
She waited some minutes before pulling out her fingers. Shadow was still screaming. Then, Sonic saw why he was screaming; the flesh of his chest was reforming.
Minutes later, Shadow stopped screaming and he wound was completely healed. He was looking at the ceiling with dull eyes.
Rouge had her hand on Shadow's arm with affection and Sonic was looking at the black hedgehog with shocked.
"Shadow... You promised me to not do this again..."
"I'm sorry....." the black hedgehog responded with emptyness in his voice.
"I just wanted my pain to go...."
He then looked at a hole in the ceiling, showing the dark blue night, and stretched his arm to it.
"I just want to be with Maria again...."
Sonic approached him, he sat next to his rival and petted his head. He never saw him like that, Shadow was always cold and showing none of his emotions and now, he was seeing all his pain. He hated seeing him like that.
The way that he was petting him, reminded Shadow of his dear friend, Maria. He quickly fell asleep, purring and smiling a little.
