(A/N: So somebody actually likes my story. So imma continue. Thank you for the people who are actually reading it. Ok Chapter 4 here we come.)
The girls had only been traveling for 15 minutes when Cam gave in.
"Can we get like burgers or something. I really want a burger right now. Can we please get a burger." Cam started to whine.
"We're not getting burgers. We left not even 20 minutes ago." Lily said already getting annoyed
"I still want a burger."
"Eat something from your bag."
"Ugh fine." Cam pulled out a chocolate bar from her backpack.
"You brought chocolate on the trip?" Lily said with an annoyed look on her face
"I brought some for you too. And it's a quest."
"Still. Eat something substantial."
"Ugh. Fine. You're acting like my mom."
"This trip is going to get real old, real quick."
"It's a quest," Cam mumbled with a mouth full of almonds.
"Whatever."
The tension was building more and more the further away from their homes they got. Lily wanted to turn right around and run back to her house. She wanted to forget about all of this. Cameron wanted to break down on the ground right then and there. She wanted all of this to be over. But they couldn't. They had a best friend to save. More like a sister. They knew they couldn't leave her wherever she was.
"Hey Cam?"
"Ya, Lils?"
"Are you scared?"
"Out of my mind"
"Me too" Lily admitted. Cameron stopped in her tracks and hugged the smaller girl. Lily started to break down in her arms. Cameron slowly let out quiet sobs. Neither of them knew what they were doing. They were just happy that they were doing it together. Both were leaving their homes and families for who knew how long. It might be forever. They both had weapons attached to their backs and more in their bags. Cameron opted on a long sword. She played baseball and was always good at batting. Lily, on the other hand, opted for a good old bow and arrow. She had impeccable aim and used to take archery classes. Slowly Cam unwrapped herself from Lily and took her hand. They walked into the adventure that was unfolding in front of them.
(A/N: Ok I know I said this would be a longer chapter, but this was sort of a filler chapter before the exciting stuff happens. I'm gonna stop making excuses and make the next chapter longer. If it isn't then feel free to yell at me. Ok bye)
