~flashback~
"You shut up also."
"Ok," Cam quickly obliged and stood, ready to fight.
~end flashback~
"Foolish girls." Mr. Yates said with poison in his voice.
"That's what I was going for." Cam shot back. Not thinking about the consequences. Mr. Yates immediately shot something in her direction. Cam ducked just in time. It slightly grazed the top of her head but did no actual damage.
"Cam oh my god you idiot." Lily thought in her head while rolling her eyes all the way to the back of her head.
"Lily that's not very nice." Cam whipped her head around.
"Wait you heard that?" Lily's eyes turned the size of saucers and her jaw dropped.
"Yeah? You said it out loud."
"No. I didn't"
"I'm pretty sure I didn't"
"Are you freaks done yet. I would like to finish you off before dinner. And Cam, she didn't say anything. Freak." Mr. Yates intervened and got a poisonous look from Cam.
"Well then, what did I say Cam?"
"Uh something like 'Cam oh my god you idiot'"
"That's....exactly what I said." Lily was very confused at this point. More magic was slowly weaving its way into their lives. Way more than they intended. "Here. Think something. Anything. Just don't say it out loud."
Cam smirked as she thought up something to say.
"My god Cam. You can't say that!" Lily had her hand over her mouth, stifling a laugh.
"What! It's true."
"Can I please get back to killing you two?" Mr. Yates cut off their conversation with a growl
"Sure. As long as we get a shot at you as well." Cam smirked once more and shot her hands forward. Multiple boulders sped towards Mr. Yates. He quickly moved out of the way, but not before one of the boulders hit him in the arm.
"Stupid girls."
"Again. That's exactly what I'm going for."
"Cam how are we going to kill this guy?" (A/N FYI children, the italics will be thoughts. Just so you guys know.) Lily thought once more, trying to communicate with Cam.
"We stab him with an icicle."
"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard you say. That'll never work"
"Yes it will. You can bend the laws of science now and besides, if we stab him with an icicle, it will melt afterward, and then there's no evidence or fingerprints left on the scene."
"Wait that's actually kinda smart."
"Told you."
"But wait. I cant make ice, just water."
"Think cold thoughts. Try snow first. I'll hold him off."
"Ok. I'll try."
While this was all happening, they were in a full-on war with Mr. Yates. He was firing things at them, and they were firing straight back. They couldn't do it on their own though. They only had their powers. They threw all of their weapons to the side. Mr. Yates, on the other hand, had actual weapons. Pieces of machinery that could kill them at any second. With Lily concentrating on trying to summon ice, Cam had to put her whole being and more into the fight. It was clear she was losing. A teenager, empty-handed, against an adult with lethal weapons was not a good mix. Though she kept powering through. She was not going to lose this fight. She fired everything she had at him. She didn't feel tired in the slightest. She had adrenaline coursing through her veins. A thirst for victory. She felt like nothing could stop her. Though now it was clear that was untrue. After about 2 minutes, something struck her arm. It left a deep gouge in the flesh of her right bicep. She kept going though. She couldn't feel anything, which was probably not a good sign.
"Cam, it's not working. I can't get anything. Just water."
"Keep trying. I can hold him off."
"Cam you're going to get killed."
"I can keep going. Don't worry about me. Just keep trying. You can do it."
"Cam-"
"Lily. I'm fine."
Cam fired again. Mr. Yates was reloading so she had an open shot. She summoned the largest boulder she could and aimed straight for his torso. It hit him square in the ribs and into the cave wall. When he came in contact with the wall, there were multiple loud cracks that made Lily want to vomit. Mr. Yates's shirt was stained with blood and his eyes shut quickly. He slumped down into to wall and you could see all the emotion flood out from his face. Lily ran over to him and checked his pulse. Nothing. Lily's eyes were wide as she turned to Cam. Her best friend had just killed a man. Cam was rocking on the spot and her eyes seemed glazed over.
"Lily I don't feel so good," Cam said before crumbling to the floor with a thud. Her eyes closed as well and all tension was released from her body.
(A/N Well children. Sorry for the whole cliffhanger type thing. I literally finished this yesterday at like 9 p.m. and Didn't feel like writing anymore. Kinda short but that's only because I waited until yesterday to start this chapter. The next chapter with probably be longer just FYI. I'm trying to make the chapter longer and better because the stories gonna end soon :(. This got really interesting really fast. Sorry if the whole mind communication thing was really weird. I just thought of it on the spot and decided to include it. Also, I don't know if the flashbacks at the beginning help, I just decided to put them in. I still need help with creating characters for the sequel. If anyone wants to help then go right ahead. If you want some more info than go read the A/N from the last chapter. I'm pretty sure that's all I have to say. Also excuse all of the mistakes made. I'm human so it happens.
QOTC: Do you have any suggestions for fics I should read. I want some new content so I'm asking you guys.
Ok, y'all. Have a nice day/night
