(A/N: Ok I know I haven't posted in a couple of days. That's because school just started again. I'm also trying to write longer chapters. So expect at least a couple of days in between. Just an FYI. So with that, enjoy chapter 6.)
The girls stopped at the entrance of the cave. Before them sat a giant dragon. It took up most of the cave so your eyes went straight to it. As much as the girls tried to take in the rest of the cave, the dragon was all they could see. It had long, sharp scales that covered its whole body. When it breathed out, small streams of smoke drifted out of its nose towards the girls. The two recoiled as the stench reached their noses. Just then a buzz was heard from inside Cam's bag.
"Cam. Turn that off." Lily said whisper-yelling to her.
"Sorry. Just let me at least see what it is first."
"Fine but hurry or else we're going to get eaten."
"Ok ok." Cameron swung her bag off her shoulder and on the ground in front of her. She opened it and reached in absentmindedly to find her phone.
"Maybe try to actually look. There are weapons in there." Lily reminded her
"Ya ya." Cam eventually found her phone and soon, the light from it was illuminating her bag. She had a couple of other notifications from multiple people. "I have a couple of notifications from multiple people."
"Who?"
"Well there's one from my mom asking how things are going and then there's one from Jennifer. God I hate her. One from Matt. Not my favorite either. And then one from Theo. He's ok." Cam started to reply.
Mom: How are things going? Are you ok?
Cam: It's fine. I can't talk now. I have to go fight a dragon. Bye <3
Mom: You're doing what?!?
"Ok. I replied to my mom but I'm not replying to either Jen, Matt, or Theo right now." Cam told Lily.
"Good. I'll check my phone later." Lily told her while rummaging through her own bag.
"What're you looking for?"
"A decent weapon to use while fighting a dragon."
"Oh that's probably a good idea. I mean I got a sword so I'm fine."
"Ya I'm not using my bow for this. Not good enough."
"Do we just stab it or do we at least try to escape first?"
"Why are you asking me?"
"Cuz you know a lot more than me."
"Actually I think in this case your knowledge might be best."
"You think?"
"I mean how many of those video games have you played."
"I think I've almost beat my 11th one.
"My point exactly. So how are we supposed to do this?"
"Well most times people try to avoid the dragon."
"So that's what we do right?"
"No. If I've learned one thing its that you should just go straight for the dragon. It offers less of a chance of getting killed."
"Ok so do you want to do the honors."
"Sure." Cam braced herself to charge. It was a good run away from the dragon so she had to be ready to strike in case it decided to bring itself back to consciousness. She took a deep breath and hoisted her sword up in the air. She started sprinting towards the dragon. As she did this, she also let out a large battle cry. At this Lily's expression became more concerned. She pinched the bridge of her nose and braced her own weapon also. Just as Lily suspected, the dragon awoke just as Cam was about to strike. Cam immediately turned and ran. When she got back to Lily, she threw her bag down and ran back.
"ARE YOU STUPID?' Lily shouted at her. There was no point in being quiet anymore.
"YES. THAT'S WHY IM DOING THIS." Cam charged and swiped her sword upwards against the dragon's scales. This detached a good chunk of them. This also made the dragon roar in pain and swing its neck towards Cam. She was immediately struck and forced back into a wall. She hit it with a loud thud and a faint crack. She immediately fell to the ground and blacked out. Lily screamed at the sight of her friend unconscious on the ground. This filled her with so much rage that she too, charged. This time with a better chance. The parts of the dragon that were covered with scales were armored. But, thanks to Cam, there was a weak spot. Lily let out a small battle cry and ran. The dragon turned to face her and a low growl was released along with a blazing stream of fire. Lily held her hands in front of her face. Though knowing this wouldn't do anything, she braced for impact. Instead a cool sensation washed over her. Where the fire once stood was a cold stream of water. Lily's eyes widened at the sight. The dragon snapped her out her trance with another stream of flames. This time she was prepared. She shot out another stream and it confused the dragon enough to give Lily a chance to escape. She charged once again towards the beast. This time she struck it where the scales had been cut off. Another roar came from the dragon's mouth and it dropped in pain. Lily wasn't convinced that she had totally finished it off so she ran over to Cam and took her sword instead. It was longer so she had a better chance of reaching vital organs with it. Lily ran over to the dragon for the final time and jammed the sword in the dragon's weak spot. Another roar came from the dragon as Lily expected. Again, not satisfied, Lily made her way over to its head and struck it with the sword. She then drew the sword out to expose the wound. She knew enough about this subject to know that once you take the weapon out, the victim was a goner. She then ran over to Cam tried to shake her awake. Nothing worked. She picked her up and ran back over to the tunnels. She grabbed their bags and then ran in the opposite direction. She ran for about 5 minutes before finding a small, but good cave to camp in for a little bit. She again tried to awake Cam. Again, nothing worked. She tried splashing her with water. Nothing. Lily started to cry.
"Cam. Please. Wake up. Please? I need you. I can't do this alone. Please, Cam." She pleaded with her unconscious friend. She stayed like this for hours but eventually, sleep crept up on her and she cried herself to sleep.
(A/N: Ok that's where I'm ending it. Should Ollie also have powers? Comment your opinions. Also if you do then should she have fire or air. That's really all I have to say. Thank you. Good day. Or night
