22. Punishment for Loving Him. (Part 1)

Isn't it lovely?
All alone
Mind made of glass

Trembling in fear, she pushed him back into the house. "Adrien, Go inside!!"

She screamed at the top of her lungs. She'd seen stars up close before but never had she seen anything like this. Armageddon never looked so beautiful.

Something was crashing down to the earth and Adrien called it a star.

But this wasn't a star at all, not in the slightest bit. A massive rock had just raced past the earth's atmosphere and had broken into fragments and was heading towards their quaint little home at an unnatural speed.

"Lord, have mercy" she cried. Adrien looked at his mum in confusion "Mummy, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" he said in a sad tone. Why was mummy so sad? He wondered.

"Adrien, honey. You've gotta run okay. Go get your sister from her room and your bags and two of your toys okay?". His lips quivered from his mother's frantic look.

"Mummy, did I do something wrong? I'm sorry I hurt you. Please forgive me" Adrien cried in hope that his mother wouldn't be upset at him anymore. Even though he didn't know what he did that made Mummy so sad.

Hannah smiled sadly at her 5 year old son. It pained her that she wouldn't see him grow up.

"Sweetie you didn't do anything wrong. I love you and your sister, Always know that".

Their home would go up in flames any minute from now and he was worried about why she was upset. She ushered him to his room to pack anything he could and she ran to get her husband.

"Kyle, take the kids and leave. Now!!". Kyle looked at his wife and the look on her face told him everything. He knew that he'd never see her again.

It was time.

"Hannah, no. Please no. Don't leave me. Not now. They needs you"

She touched Kyle, wanting to feel him one last time "Don't let them forget me. Tell them I'll always love them"

They say men don't cry but Kyle cried that night.

And he couldn't help but kiss her goodbye.

"Goodbye, My Love"

"Take them and go, Kyle. I love you. The three of you"

Kyle packed their things and grabbed their kids Adrien and Adriana. They got into the car and the twins saw their mum for the last time. They couldn't stop the tears from their eyes. Their little minds couldn't understand why their mum couldn't come with them?

Hannah knew.

This wasn't just any asteroid.

It was her punishment.

Punishment for loving a human.

Punishment for loving Kyle.

And as she watched them leave she knew that they were the last thing she'd ever see.

So for one or two or maybe three chapters I'll be adding short stories in parts. It's supposed to be just one short story but even I want to see what's gonna happen next .
