Lisa's POV
I jolted as I woke up, my hand flying to my lips, touching them lightly in shock. What was that? What have I just dreamt? I ran my thumb along my bottom lip in disbelief. I just dreamt that Demi and I kissed. Was I going crazy? I blinked a few times and looked around me. Where am I? I thought as I took in my surroundings, unsure of where I was but finding everything slightly familiar? I sat up and examined myself. I ran my hands over the blanket that covered me and looked up to find I was laying on the sofa. Sorry, not just any old sofa, Demi's sofa. You fell asleep here!? My mind shouted at me. I shook my head, totally in awe of the situation. I looked around to find my phone, and saw it sitting on the table beside the sofa where my glass of water was. I picked it up and saw several messages from Saph.
- Where are you?
- Are you still out with Demi?
- Answer my texts bitch ;)
- Lia seriously
- Lia where even are you? Please answer me
- Lia you're scaring me please just answer
- Please I'm worrying so much
- Lia:(
I looked at the time, 05:13am. Shit, I left home yesterday at 1pm and hadn't texted Saph all day. I started to type out a message to her.
- I'm so sorry Saph! Don't worry I promise I'm okay, I'm at Demi's apartment, I'll come home real soon<3I threw the blanket off me and stood up. I looked around the couch for my shoes which I'm assuming Demi took off me when I fell asleep. I went to put them on but remembered that they click on the floor when I walk, so I decided to leave that til last. I went to the kitchen and flipped on the light, which made more noise than I thought it would. I shut it off as fast as I could, trying to stop the noise. I stood still for a few seconds, trying to regain myself.
"Are you okay?" I heard a raspy voice say from behind me. I quickly spun around and saw just a shadow of a person as it was dark. The shadow moved over to the couch and turned on the lamp beside it. I squinted my eyes trying to adjust to the light. Demi stood by the lamp, her hair tied loosely in a messy bun, with a hugely oversized tshirt on, which went down to her mid-thigh, which from there downwards was bare. I clenched my jaw to stop it from falling open at the sight of how flawless she looked even though she'd just woken up.
"Lia?" She spoke again. I blinked, bringing myself back to reality.
"Yeah um..yeah..Sorry I didn't mean to fall asleep earlier.." I apologised.
"You don't have to apologise for that, you caused no trouble." She said, her raspy morning voice becoming more admirable by the second.
"I was just going to go home now, I was trying to find something to write you a note with.." I trailed off at the end of my sentence as Demi headed over to me, and leaned against the kitchen counter.
"It's 5am..and you don't have a car, how were you going to get home?" She asked me. I frowned a little.
"I guess I didn't think that through." I said quietly. She giggled a little then bit her lip, her eyes focusing on her feet.
"Stay, I'll drive you home in the morning." She said. I opened my mouth to argue but she was ahead of me.
"I will drive you home in the morning, okay?" She said with a little grin as she poked my side. I jumped and giggled as her attempt to tickle me.
"Fine, but I owe you big time, you drive me everywhere." I said to Demi. She raised her eyebrows.
"Well..I can, so I will." She grinned. I smiled at her, remembering how flawless her smile was in my dream. She was just perfect.
"Should probably go back to sleep." I gestured for us both and headed back to the sofa. Demi followed me, catching up to me and grabbing my hand. I flinched at her sudden touch and turned to face her.
"I'm not letting you sleep on the sofa again, I only left you before because I didn't want to wake you." Demi insisted as she pulled me away from the sofa by my hand.
"Demi it's fine, I can't sleep-"
"You're sleeping here, trust me it's much comfier." Demi insisted again as she lead me to her room and gestured to the giant bed in the centre of the room.
"Demi I can't-"
"Lia, when friends have sleepovers and slumber parties, there's like 4 people in a bed, just sleep here, we'll call it our own sleepover!" She said excitedly, dropping my hand and clapping hers together. I smiled and dropped my gaze.
"Okay fine you win but only because you being cute always wins." I accidentally said what I thought.
"I always win anyway!" She bragged, pretending to flip her hair over her shoulder. I laughed and shook my head.
"I guess you're just always cute then!" I said, playfully pushing her a little. She did it back and then smiled at me.
"Well so are you, princess." She grinned at me. I felt butterflies in my stomach as she said princess. God what was she doing to me? She made me so happy...
"Come on, you have to sleep that side I always sleep this side." She spoke, snapping me back as she pointed to the other side of the bed.
"Oh wait," She said as she skipped over to her wardrobe, pulling out an oversized football shirt and some pyjama shorts. She handed them to me.
"You can change into these, you're still in your clothes." She giggled as I looked at myself.
"Thanks." I said, walking over to her en suite which she pointed out to me.Demi's POV
Lia took the clothes from me, giving me an adorable little smile.
"Thanks," she said as she headed for my bathroom. I let out a huge breath as she closed the bathroom door. This girl does something to me, I don't know what it is but I just find myself in awe of her, she's so beautiful and strong, I can't believe everything she's been through. She's a little fighter..my little fighter..What? Since when is she yours? My mind said. She's not mine..but the thought of her being mine..No, stop. How many times Demi? It. Will. Never. Happen. I sighed as I plopped down on the bed. Was there a chance that maybe I was falling for her? I've only ever had boyfriends, I did experiment with a few girls once but..that wasn't anything..maybe I liked her like..more than just friends. Maybe the reason why I get butterflies in my stomach when she smiles, and why I find it so hard to take my eyes off her, is because I'm falling for her. Maybe..just maybe...I jumped as the bathroom door opened and Lia reappeared in the doorway, a pile of nearly folded clothes in her hands, and the clothes I'd given her hanging from her delicate body. She was tiny, which worried me a little, but I didn't say anything, I didn't want to be rude. I'd already got her at her most vulnerable, I think that's enough for now. I smiled at her and stood up, taking the neat pile from her hands and placing it on a chair by my makeup table. I pulled the curtain back a little to see it was still pitch black. It was that time of year when it was still dark at 8am, but I didn't mind, I was usually awake to watch the sunrise which was one of my favourite things.
I pulled the curtain shut again and headed back to my bed, climbing on top of it and under the cover. I looked at Lia who still stood where I'd taken the clothes from her.
"Come on you need to sleep." I said quietly, extending my arm out to her. She gave me a warm smile and walked round to the other side of the bed, getting under the cover and snuggling in.
"Okay this is a lot comfier than the sofa.." She laughed. I smiled and bit my lip, taking in how flawless she looked when she laughed. God she's perfect. Demi, how many times!? I thought to myself. I blinked and laid back onto my pillow, turning on my side to face Lia. She did the same, causing us to be face to face.
"You're beautiful Lia." I whispered, half accidentally thinking out loud. Her cheeks turned a deep shade of pink and she pulled the cover up over her face, but leaving her big round eyes, still covered with her glasses.
"Do these ever come off?" I asked, trying to move on from what I'd just said. She giggled a little and moved the cover back down.
"Not really..only to sleep." She whispered to me. I slowly reached up to her face, my fingers lightly gripping one arm of her glasses and carefully pulling them away from her face. I let go of them when I could see her face clearly.
"Beautiful." I repeated. She took the glasses and put them on the nightstand beside her, then turned back to me. She looked so tired, it was adorable.
"Sleep now." I whispered. She nodded.
"Night Demi." She said.
"Night princess," I said quietly, watching her close her eyes and quickly fall asleep.
