"Sang! When you finish carrying the boxes in, help Marie and me unpack our rooms!" My mother called out.
I hurry to unload the truck and car, thinking about what to make for dinner. I place the last box in the hallway leading to the garage and run to mothers room to unpack. I gently knock on her door before heading inside.
I quickly pull out her blankets and pillows and make the bed. Then I set up curtains to hide the afternoon sun. After setting up her television, I begin placing her clothes in the dresser and in her closet. Then right as I finish making everything perfect, mother walks in and flops onto her bed. I place my hands behind my back and look to the ground, waiting to be dissmissed.
"I expect dinner to be ready by 7 tonight. And I want everything unpacked and cleaned by tomorrow. If not, then you'll be punished. Now get out." Mother tells me harshly.
I only nod my head and quickly slip out of her bedroom.
I hurry to Marie's room and finish organizing her belongings and just as I head towards the stairs to start dinner, Marie walks out of the bathroom. She looks at me with a snarl before she shoves me down the steps. I gasp and try to gain balance, but all I could grab was air as I tumbled down. As I reach the bottom I hear her snicker and slam her door.
Acting like nothing happened I push myself up. With my body now sore, and my leg in pain, I hobble to start dinner before I get yelled at by mother. I don't know what I ever done to deserve all of this. And I don't understand why I'm always put through hell for simply existing. But I can't change it so I just shake it all off.

I make the table and put out dinner, then begin to make lunches for me and Marie for school tomorrow. Its a new school and we moved just in time for the first day. Dad called ahead to get us in our classes yesterday, so we wouldn't have to sit in the office forever trying to set up schedules. To be honest I can't wait to explore and learn new things. And hopefully even make a friend.
I tell Mother and Marie that dinner is ready and wait beside the table for them to be seated. Just as I begin to sit down also, Marie turns to mother and says, "I had to unpack my own room mom. I thought Sang was suppose to do it."
Mother glares at me as I look at Marie in confusion. "Thank you baby girl, I did tell her to unpack your room. I'm sorry you had to do all of that by yourself. Now Sang, since you always like to be disobedient, you dont get dinner. And now I want this house unpacked tonight. If its not then let me just tell you, you will wish you had. Do you understand me?!"
I could hear the barely restrained anger in her voice. Just as I could see the smirk that Marie throws my way. I bite my tounge to keep from defending myself, knowing it would do only harm as I nod and leave the dinning room.
I'm use to having go go without food. This is going on day five now. But all I do is convince myself I'm not hungry. I sigh as I begin a night full of unpacking.

I finally finished unpacking every room and cleaning the house. It's almost five in the morning. So there is no point in trying to sleep, since I have to go to school. So I slide on tennis shoes and a hoodie and walk over to the woods behind the house. I begin my morning run of four miles then stop in a clearing to practice my defense and gymnastics routine.
By the time I take a shower and finish cleaning breakfast dishes it's almost time for the bus to pick us up. So I quickly brush my teeth and toss my lunch into my backpack and run to the front door. As Marie walks out I hand her, her lunch and receive only a elbow to my stomach. I grunt and bend over as I try to calm my breathing and ignor my pain. As I walk out I put the hood up to cover my face as I face the road waiting for the bus. In my peripheral vision I see two boys around my age walk up next to me talking to each other. Then a pang of longing hits my chest as I hope for a friendship also.So I shut down my emotions and only study them. One has red brown hair, with deep blue eyes as the other one has dark green eyes with glasses and dark hair. The redheaded boy had more muscle than the other but where his was raw strength the other boy had more lean muscles. I blushed to myself for checking out strangers and quickly looked in front of me. The boys stopped beside me, and I couldn't make out their whispers.
About five minutes later the bus pulls up in front of us as we all hurry onto the bus. I keep my head down and push into the nearest empty seat. I rest my head on the cool bus window and take a quick look around. This bus is full. Most seats held three or more kids. I'm kind of shocked that this seat was even empty. The two boys are just walking on the bus and pause before giving each other a quick look. The one with glasses scans the bus before landing on me. I look down immediately.
A few moments later I hear the seat beside me. I take a peek and notice that it is the two boys. I push myself as far to the window as I can, to give them more space. Then soon a khaki covered leg is pressed up against my own. I jerk away in reflex and try to give more room. Then I watch out the window.
"Hello. My names Kota, and this is one of my good friends Nathan beside me." The voice startles me out of my daydream. I look up and meet the boy with glasses eyes. Then as I look to the next boy, I nod my head before repying.
"Sang. My name is Sang" then I look away again.
