Owen's P.O.V
I was trying to figure out if there was an actual fire, or if some kid decided to pull the alarm as a prank. But Mr. Hendricks was insisting that we all wait outside the building until the fire trucks come and clear us entry.
I was beginning to get frustrated as he assured me everyone was out of the building. Yet something was telling me that more was going on than he was saying.
So I pulled out my phone and sent a group message to my team.
Blackbourne: Everyone check in please.
Almost immediately the first message came in. But still, my nerves were becoming thinner. As my gut told me that something was wrong.
North: Here. I'm going over to the football players to talk to them about this. Something feels wrong. Everyone seems more excited than a typical alarm. But it could just be because of getting out of class.
Silas: just looking for Sang. Lost her in the crowd out here.
Sean: I'm outside. Owen, I overheard a couple students talking about a Fall. Something about students on third floor going over the balcony.
North: I haven't seen any of the guys yet. Have you all? I called Kota, but he didn't pick up.
Silas: Same here. I tried calling Victor and Nathan. Nothing. Still haven't found Sang. She too small.
Blackbourne: Sean, let's head inside to check it out. Make sure it's not a rumor. North, Silas. Look for the others out here. Because it's been a few minutes and nobody has checked in.
I shove my phone back into my pocket before walking to the doors of the school while straightening my tie. Dr. Green had caught up as I pulled open the door.
My heart drops to my feet as I see a small black form falling to the ground three stories up. I tried to rush to catch the student, but didn't make it.
My breath caught in panic, as Dr. Green started racing over to the figure. I certainly never expected the figure to land and roll onto her feet as though never falling to begin with. Nor did I expect to see the wide bright green eyes of Ms. Sorenson.
I went to reach for her but she had started running up the stairs. Ignoring mine and Dr. Green's pleas for her to stop. She had to have taken damage from a fall like that.
So I began running up the steps myself. Only to be surrounded and pushed to the back of the football crowd.
Sean's P.O.V
My Pookie just fell from the balcony and ran back up as though nothing happened. I wasn't sure if I should be proud but I was. Even through a surge of panic.
I know I have to check her over. She could have damage to her back, ankles or neck. But it couldn't be too horrible if she was back onto her feet.
I raced after her, only to become mad that I was put behind a crowd of football players. I had to make sure Pookie was okay, and these barbarians had to get in my way.
Eventually me and Owen made it up top, seeing the football team dragging kids off to a nearby classroom. Then guarding the room from I assume the potential escapees.
North and Silas broke from the crowd and walked over to me and Owen and began speaking. I hadn't even noticed them, as they blended in with the football team.
"The football team knew something was going to happen today. Just not when. They said this usually happens every year. Several times. Usually only to the weakest. Apparently that group deemed our team, minus me and Silas as weak." North spoke pointedly.
His body shaking as he held down his anger. Silas reached over and put a hand on North's shoulder before adding,
"Also, The only reason the team stepped in at all was because a girl was included. That girl. . . Was Sang."
