Chapter 3

This one was so fun to write.

Vert's POV

"So guys, this is Shard. The mysterious biker that was in that battle zone. She was banished there for some reason by Sage, which I still haven't asked about yet." Zoom said to us. We were sitting outside of Zeek's, with Zoom and this Shard girl. He pointed to the girl, who smiled shyly back. "Shard, that's Vert, Stanford, and Agura." Zoom said again, pointing to us in return. "Nice to meet you." she said. I heard a ding from the door around the corner, and Spinner and Sherman talking about some video game. They rounded the corner, and I saw Shard gasp. "Spinner?" she said to the short boy, "Shard?" he replied. "Sherman?" "Shard?" they were staring at each other in shock. "Uh. Do you... know each other?" Stanford asked as we looked between the two. The three nodded in unison. "Yeah, their my brothers." Shard said, standing up. Sherman handed off the pizza to me, as she ran up to the two. "I thought you were gone!" Spinner yelled as they embraced each other.

"You can blame that stupid joke." Shard replied, as they all pulled away from each other. "Hehe. I'm sorry about that." Spinner said, scratching the back of his neck. She smirked, flattening his hair down. Spinner shrieked, and tried to fix it, and Shard turned to Sherman. "What's 51 divided by 3?" he asked. I remember that he was trying to figure it out, and every calculator he tried broke, or gave an incorrect answer. She let out a laugh, "17." she said almost immediately. Sherman nodded, "Oh, that makes sense now. I guess I just did the math wrong." he said, looking up at the sky. We all let out a laugh, and the three walked over to the table. Shard was sitting on the table, her feet on the bench turned to us, just like how Spinner sat. She was sitting by Zoom, leaning back against the wall.

We laughed and talked, eating pizza. Grace walked around the corner, giving us the last of our pizza, and noticed Shard. "Hi, you must be new around here." she said. "Nah, pretty old actually." Shard replied. Grace looked confused, before walking off. We all let out a laugh at what she said, as we each grabbed another piece. "Wait, wait, wait. You ate granola bars... for 4 years!" Spinner said as Shard was telling us about the mobi she lived in. Shard let out a laugh, "Sometimes I would eat some fruit, but that was rationed out to once or twice every few months." she said, shrugging. We all burst out laughing at the look on Spinner's face. "We should head back to the hub." Agura said, and we all nodded. I stopped Shard so we were out of earshot of the others. "I think you would be a good addition to our team, do you want to join?" I asked. She tilted her head, thinking for a minute. "Can I get a cool bike like your guy's cars?" she asked after a minute. I nodded, and her eyes lit up, "Course I'll join!" she said. I smiled, and walked back to the Saber.

Shard climbed on behind Zoom, wearing a helmet. I could see Zoom blush slightly, and looked over at Agura. She saw it too, and smiled at me, motioning with her hand to get on channel 3. I nodded, and quickly changed the frequency, giving her a thumbs up. "What do you say we push a love boat a bit?" I asked, nodding my head over at Shard and Zoom, who seemed to be talking to each other. Agura smiled at me, "Let's have a little fun." she said, winking. I winked back, and we drove off back to the hub. When I switched back to the regular frequency, I heard Sherman and Zoom explaining how to get her helmet onto the right frequency. Soon I heard Shard's voice, "Did I do it right?" she asked. Zoom nodded, and then Stanford screamed. "Who touched Mr. Teddy!" he yelled. I shook my head, laughing. "You shot it at Krocomodo back on the Vandal homeworld. Remember?" Spinner said. Stanford let out another scream, yelling, "I HATE THAT PLANET!". We all let out a laugh, and drove back into the hub.

We all got off of or out of our vehicles, and saw Sage talking to the Vandal that had been brought with Shard. "What's his name again?" I asked. Shard glared at me, "Her name is Kala." she said, and I realized my mistake. There was a Vandaless in our hub. This was not just any ordinary Vandal. "I am so sorry." I quickly apologized to her. She sent me a small smile, and turned back to Kala and Sage. "Battle Force 5, I would like you to meet our two new members." Sage said. "Kala will be useful with her knowledge and strength. And Shard will also be useful with sneak attacks, and ambushes." she said. Some wires surrounded Shard and her motorcycle, as her clothes changed into a black and silver suit. "To complete the transformation, you must name your vehicle." Sage said. Shard stepped up, looking it up and down, before smiling. "The Hijacker." She said, turning back to us. "Welcome to Battle Force 5. Kala, you too. Although I can provide no suit or vehicle to you." "Thank you, Sage." Kala replied.
