Shard's POV

I figured out that it was rocket powered, and started it up. Blaze flew next to me, leading the way through all of the streets. We showed up at a building, and destroyed the Zurk that were standing in front of the door. I ran into the building, occasionally getting cuts here and there as I destroyed the Sark I passed. I ran into the control room and quickly destroyed the Zurk there. I threw off my helmet, and looked over at Blaze. "Blaze, upload the virus." I ordered. He beeped, and I turned to the door as about 20 Zurk ran in. I smiled, and began to fight them off. I destroyed the last one as more came into the room. I gripped the sword tighter in my bloody left hand. My left hip had a large gash, and there was a cut on my cheek and on the back of my left hand. And the pain in my leg was beginning to increase.

"Blaze, is that virus uploaded yet?!" I yelled to the drone. He beeped what I could only hope was yes, and I destroyed the last of the Zurk. I turned to the doorway, and saw Zoom standing there, watching me. He held a sword in his own hand, and I thought I could see it shaking. I heard a bing as I took a step forward, but my vision blurred, and I began to fall to the ground. I felt two strong arms catch me, and help to put me back on my feet. "Take it easy, Shard." Zoom whispered, and I slowly relaxed into his arms. He continued to hold me close to him, and I slowly moved back onto my feet. I looked up at him, and he smiled. "Thank you." he whispered, and I weakly smiled back.

Zoom let me lean on him for support as we followed Blaze out of the building, passing several powered off Sark. Once we made it outside, I could see Zoom glare at the motorcycle that he had been using. "Blue and silver is so not my color." he muttered, and I smiled. There was a loud explosion, and we both looked around. "The Sark are just running on battery power right now, you should go and help the others." I said. Zoom looked down at me, "What about you?" he asked. I let go of his arm, and pulled the necklace that I wore over my neck off. It was a circular, gold chain with a white gem in the middle, and lines surrounding it in the pattern of a wolf's head. "I'll be fine. How else am I supposed to get this back?" I asked, grabbing his hand and setting the necklace in it. "You better be." Zoom said, pulling me into a hug.

We pulled away after a minute, and gave each other a quick kiss on the lips, before Zoom walked over to the motorcycle, keeping his hand around my necklace. It took a minute, but he managed to get it to start up. He looked back at me, and I gave a small smile. "I'm going to come back for you, I promise." Zoom said, before driving off. As soon as he was out of sight, I let my smile drop. I hadn't told anyone of what my mission here really was, not even Kulei. I looked up at Blaze, and I felt a tear roll down my cheek. "Record message." I said, and his camera lit up, showing he was recording.

"Hi guys. I... I'm not sure what to say. I'm positive you're all kind of mad at me in some way. But what I did, I had to do. I wanted to help you guys to save the multiverse, and free everyone. But the only way I could really help was to do this. I'm blowing up the Sark's energy source, to keep them from continuing to function. It will give you a chance against Krytus. I don't think that you will see me again, considering I still have some things I have to take care of in the multiverse, but if you do, I'm giving you all the rights to yell at me. Sherman, Spinner, you guys were the best brothers in the world. Always stay strong and true to each other. Stanford, I didn't know you that well, but don't let everyone get too cocky. Vert, you were a leader that I would have followed to the end. Keep the team together, and help stop Krytus and the Vandals, and keep protecting Earth. Agura, you were like the sister I never had. You helped me through so much, and keep caring for the boys. Kala, thank you for all that you have done for me. You were the best friend that I could have asked for. Zoom... you'll never understand what it meant to me to have someone that was always caring for me. You wouldn't understand what it was like to have you there to look out for me, and to help me through so much. You have my eternal gratitude, and I owe you so much for everything you did for me. Keep fighting, and remember that if you need me, to look back at all the times that we spent together, and I'm sure that you'll discover something new. Thank you, everyone. For everything." I said.

Blaze cut off the message, and waited for me. "Go find the others, Blaze. And thank you for your help." I told him. He beeped, before flying a circle around me, doing an R2-D2 squeal. I smiled, and watched as he flew off. I sighed, before turning back to the energy factory. I walked inside, and went back to the control room. "Begin core meltdown." I whispered, and the screen flashed a countdown. This would only destroy the factory, nothing else. It would stop the Sark for good. I moved my hand down to the pouch at my waist, and pulled out a random battle key. I held it in my hand, not looking at which one it was, before throwing it down at the floor. It opened the portal beneath me, and I fell inside, shutting the portal behind me. One day I would go home, but I had a long war ahead of me before that day came.

Zoom's POV

I drove off on the totally stupid, old bike that Zemerick had given me to go meet up with the others and help them. I didn't understand why Shard didn't want to come along though, but I didn't stop to think about it. I took a quick look down at my hand to make sure that her necklace that she had given me was still in it, and it was. I showed up where the others were, and tried activating the stupid motorcycles weapons. I helped to defeat the remaining Sark that was there when I heard an explosion off in the distance. I turned, and my eyes widened as I saw that it was where the energy factory was. I just stared at it when Blaze flew up to Vert, the others, and I. We all got out or off of our vehicles, and walked up to it.

A hologram of Shard appeared, and I could see that there were tears running down her face. "Hi guys. I don't think that you will see me again, considering I still have some things I have to take care of, but if you do, I'm giving you all the rights to yell at me. Sherman, Spinner, you guys were the best brothers in the world. Always stay strong and true to each other." Shard started. I could see the brothers look at each other, and the sadness in their eyes. "Stanford, I didn't know you that well, but don't let everyone get too cocky." Stanford looked down at the ground. "Vert, you were a leader that I would have followed to the end. Keep the team together, and help stop Krytus and the Vandals, and keep protecting Earth." Shard continued, and I could tell that Vert was breaking down inside. "Agura, you were like the sister I never had. You helped me through so much, and keep caring for the boys." Agura hid her face from view, and I knew that she was crying. "Kala, thank you for all that you have done for me. You were the best friend that I could have asked for." Shard continued, and Kulei, Kala's mom hugged Shard's best friend close. "Zoom... you'll never understand what it meant to me to have someone that was always caring for me. For everything." The message finished, and I could feel my heart breaking.

I couldn't believe that she was gone. Shard, the girl I was in love with. She had sacrificed everything that she had and loved to save the multiverse. I turned away from the others, and they didn't stop me from walking off through the streets. When they were out of sight, I collapsed to my knees and let out a scream. I stopped after a minute, burying my head in my hands and letting the tears come freely. I pulled out Shard's necklace, staring at the wolf's face engraved on it. I closed it tightly in my hand, and let out another scream of anguish. If only she had told me, we could have found a different way so we could all be together. I would've given my life just so we could all be whole as a team. "Please, Shard. I don't want you to go." I whispered into the necklace. But deep down inside, my gut feeling told me she was gone, and wouldn't come back.
