Spinner's POV
I watched Sage as she tended to my little sister's wounds. Shard was motionless, sometimes letting out little groans of pain. I saw her cringe as Sage worked on her shoulder. "I was told about what you did earlier." Sage said, breaking the long silence. I tensed, knowing she was talking about back at Zeek's with Simon. "Yeah. But I mean what I said. Shard is way too good for him, even after what she did today. But Sage, I never realized it until now. Shard is only meant for one person. And only one person is meant for her." I said, sitting down in the chair next to Shard. "Do you know who this person is?" she asked. I kept my head down, thinking for a minute. "I think I do. Zoom was the one who found her, who cared for her. Who still cares for her. He went off alone to save her the first time, and he ran through a freezing ice zone just to save her again. They were meant for each other." I said, looking up.
Sage smiled at me, "Then perhaps you could join Agura, Stanford and Vert in their plan." she said, turning back to her computer. "Wait, what? What plan?" I asked, totally confused. "Stanford, Vert and Agura are trying to, and I quote, 'push a love boat' between the two." Sage said, placing the last bandages on Shard's cut under her eye. "WHAT!? Oh yes. I'm joining in." I yelled the first part, but covered my mouth, before whispering the last part. "Shard will be alright, you may stay here for the rest of the day and night. Sherman will do it tomorrow." Sage informed me, before floating out, and shutting the door. I figured she was going to tell the others.
I watched Shard as she breathed in and out, her chest moving with her breaths. Sage came back in about an hour later to tell me something. "Just so you know, for now I will only allow one of you to be with her at a time." She said, checking something on her computer, before floating back out. I really hoped that she would be alright.
The next few days passed like this. Sunday, the day I watched Shard was quiet, with no storm shocks. Monday was Sherman's day, but nothing happened then either. Tuesday was Kala's turn, the first time any of us had seen her since Shard's sacrifice. Wednesday was Zoom, and I will admit that he was probably the most worried. Thursday was Agura, Friday Stanford. And then it was Saturday, Vert's turn. No storm shocks had happened all week, but then there had to be one... now.
Vert's POV
I was sitting by Shard's side, considering it was my turn to be with her, when the storm shock alarm came on. I looked up at Sage, who nodded at me, "I will keep an eye on her. You must go." she said. I nodded, and ran out of the room and to the Saber. It was so much different without Shard being there to help keep her brothers in check, so this drive was quiet. When we entered the battle zone, I could see the Red Sentients were up to something. I could also see the anger in Zoom's eyes. "Buster, Chopper, you guys go find the key. We'll see what their up to." I said. I knew that they all wanted to get Krytus for what he had done to Shard, but it was probably best that they went off to find the key. Agura and I slid out of our vehicles, Kala and Stanford making sure that no one was sneaking up on us, and watching our backs.
"What are they doing?" Agura asked as I looked through my glasses. "I don't know, it looks like they're up to something no good. Zoom, Sherman, Spinner, do you guys have the battle key?" I asked. "Yup, we're on our way back now." Spinner replied. I nodded at Stanford, giving him the go ahead to do some sniping. He did, and took out all of the Sentients, just as the battle key arrived. "Let's get home." I said, heading back to the Saber. Everyone followed me as we went through, and drove back to the hub. It was dark out when we returned, and Sage was not in the infirmary. "Uh, Sage. I thought you were with Shard?" Agura asked, confused. Sage turned to us. "I was, but Shard woke up, and went outside on the roof." she replied, just as the Chopper rolled up. "Sage says Shard has woken up." I told the others. That brought joy to Zoom's face, and I now knew for sure that he liked her. Spinner and Sherman had found out what we were up to, and nodded. "We're going to go take a shower first, Zoom, why don't you go see her?" Spinner asked, before the brothers walked out of the room. He looked uncertain, but sighed, "Where is she?" he asked.
