Shard's POV

I stared wide-eyed at Kulei, who was my best friend's mom. THIS WAS THE WEIRDEST DAY OF MY LIFE! "Oh my goodness..." I repeated, still staring. "You said you were a friend of Kala's?" Kulei asked. I snapped out of my thoughts, and nodded. "Yeah, my name is Shard, and Kala is my best friend." I replied. Kulei smiled, and kneeled down in front of me. "Your leg... it's injured?" she asked. I looked down at it, and in the dim light I could see my torn shocksuit, and the long cut on it. And the pain was killing me! I slowly nodded, and Kulei stood up, she held out a hand to me, and I took it. She led me behind some crates, and to what looked like a main area. There were some computers running, with a few seats in front of them. The computers were tapped into the security cameras.

Kulei pulled up two seats together, and motioned for me to sit on one. I did, and used my two hands to lift my left leg up so it was extended on the seat. Kulei went over to a crate, and pulled out a bag. She walked back over to me, and she looked up at me. "Can I rip your suit more?" she asked. I nodded, and she ripped the suit so it started just below my knee. I cringed slightly as I saw all of the blood around it, and looked away. I stared at the screens as Kulei worked on my leg. I looked at one of them. It showed Zemerick up on the top of his building with Zug... and Zoom. I looked away again, and my eyes fell on my leg. Kulei had cleaned it up, and was placing some gauze on it, then wrapped black bandages around it so it blended into my suit. She finished, and looked up at me, "Are you injured anywhere else?" she asked. I could see her eyeing my cheek just a bit, then remember my wrist. "I have a sprained wrist." I said, holding out my right arm. She took it, and examined it. I watched as she shuffled around in the bag, and pulled out what looked like a large wrist brace. I had no idea where she had gotten all of this stuff from.

Kulei strapped the brace on my right wrist, and as if by magic, it fit. "So tell me, how is my daughter doing?" she asked, breaking the silence. "Oh, I think she's doing alright. Her father has been seen a few times, but he has yet to see her." I replied. Kulei looked up at me, "You know who her father is?" she asked. I nodded, "And about her arm. We don't keep secrets from each other." I replied. The wolf Vandaless looked at me curiously, "I am glad that my daughter has found such great friends." she said. I smiled, and she stood up. I slowly moved my leg off of the chair, "Thank you." Kulei smiled at me, "Any time." she said. She walked past me, and I saw her stop and stare at the symbol on my shoulder pad. "Do you... I'm sorry, but do you work for a red Sentient?" she asked, putting the bag away. I shook my head, "No, I work for Kala's aunt, and your sister-in-law, Sage. She's a blue Sentient." I said. Kulei nodded thoughtfully, before walking back over to me.

"How did you end up here? I mean... Kala said that you were murdered." I said, hoping it didn't sound too awkward. Kulei glanced over at me, before continuing to watch the screens. "After I was... supposedly murdered, and Kala was taken away, I decided to go try and find her. I searched all over town, but I couldn't find her. At some point I got sucked up into a giant tornado with lightning bolts flashing here and there. I showed up in a thick, green, lush forest (NOT Vandal). I looked around it, but there was no one in sight. I had walked for miles until I came upon this area that was housing this key." she pulled out a dark green battle key. "I took it, and hid in the bushes as I heard engines approaching. (So this will take place after Zemerick got the virus that turned him into a blue Sark, instead of red.) A bunch of blue cars came out, and one stopped at where I had found this key. The Sark talked before, driving off. I decided to follow them, and went through another portal that brought me here." Kulei finished.

I was amazed at her story, and looked at the battle key in her hand. "Do you know what this is?" Kulei asked, seeing me staring at it. I nodded, "It's called a battle key." "How do you know?" she asked, clearly confused. I reached my hand down to my pocket, and pulled out two more. "Because I have these two." I replied, showing them to her. She stared at them, then back to hers. "Would you please keep an eye on this one?" she asked, handing it to me. I smiled, and took it, putting all three back. Kulei took a seat, and turned to the screens, flipping through them. "So what do you do?" I ask, looking up at them. "I monitor the Sark's movements, and occasionally will go in to steal intel or let prisoners go." she replied. I turned away from the wall of screens, and took a closer look around the warehouse. There were broken Zurk and drones littering the floor. An idea came to my mind, and I smiled. Slowly, I stood up, and walked over to one. I sat down next to it, grabbing a tool kit that was on a crate.
