Chapter 30

(Jaren's pov)

I wake up to quiet voices coming from outside my bedroom door, I recognize them as the voices of my mother and father.

"We don't have long until they come, do you think we have enough time?" I hear my mother ask quietly.

My father responds in an equally quiet voice, "I'm sure we do, soon we can get back into the old swing of things, we just gotta keep this up for a little longer dear."

'What?' I think to myself.

During these past few days, those two have been acting strange, I'm thankful for the change but I know it's all a lie.

My thoughts are interrupted by the sound of my doorknob twisting, and in response, I lay back down and pretend to be asleep as my parents walk into my room.

"Hey bud its time to get up." My dad says, slightly shaking me.

I pretend to act tired as I sluggishly sit up, rubbing my eyes in the process to make it more believable.

I look up at my mom to see her holding a small plate of waffles. She hands them to me.

"Eat quick and come downstairs after you're done." She says with a smile.

They leave the room and I do as they say, getting ready for school in the process.

Once I'm done I head downstairs to the kitchen and see my parents sitting down at the table.

"We have a surprise for you." My dad says, as if he were speaking to someone he cared for, what a joke.

The two stand up and head outside, I follow them, but before we got outside, they put a blindfold on me.

They lead me to our driveway and take the blindfold off, where I'm met with a shiny new car.

I'm confused at first.

"So you guys got a new car?" I ask.

My dad chuckles, and puts something in my hand. I look down to see the keys for the car and the dots connect in my mind.

I'm shocked, "It's...for me?" I say.

They both smile, "We thought we'd get you a little something, you deserve it."

I stand there in confusion and without thinking, I give them a hug. "This is great, thank you guys."

"Why don't you drive yourself to school and test it." My mom says.

I nod and hop in, putting the key in the ignition, it's really nice.

I wave bye to my parents and drive off.

When I pull into school, Eric spots me coming out of the car immediately and runs over to me.

"What the fuck." He stares at the car in astonishment. " Where did you steal this from?"

I roll my eyes, "My parents got it for me this morning."

He raises his eyebrows in surprise. "I don't believe you but ok, let's go."

We make our way to class and I see Tyler with that girl again, I'm hoping Craig doesn't see, that would tear him apart.

He spots me from the corner of his eye and looks down at the ground guiltily.

Swagger and I part ways as I head to history, the only class John and I share, unless you count lunch.

I see him and think about what I saw in the hallway, and I can't help but share.

"Hey John." I say as I sit next to him before class starts.

"Oh, hey." He responds.

"Tyler is already with someone else." I tell him.

He looks at me in shock, guess he didn't know yet. "Already? Damb." I nod.

"I really hope Mini doesn't see, I don't even wanna imagine what it would do to him." I tell John.

He tilts his head, "I don't know about that, I visited Craig yesterday and he seems to already have a date."

I'm surprised, didn't think Craig would move on so quick, he seemed miserable.

Class starts and I move back to my seat, thinking about what happened this morning at home.

Something is off here.

A/N- heyyyyyyy! If you read the last part I put out, you saw that I'm back. I had to reread my own story a few times cus it's been so long.
