Your defensive reaction was like a bucket of cold water for Jimin's rage and he remained frozen for a moment, stunned that you could even entertain the thought of him attempting to hurt you. Yes, he was angry, but he'd never dream of laying a finger on you. The sight of you sobbing and cowering into yourself because of him broke his heart and caused his eyes to pool with tears. Carefully, he squatted down in front you, terrified of the unbearable chance that his actions may frighten you again.

Gently, he placed his hand on your ankle, rubbing soothing circles on it with his thumb. He desperately wanted to hold you, but he didn't want to startle you by being too invasive. "Y/N, babygirl." He whispered, voice shaking slightly. "You do know I would never hurt you, right?"

You merely whimpered, and honestly, neither of you were sure if that was a yes or a no. Franticly, he began explaining what had just happened and how he hadn't had any intention of hitting you. When he began crying, practically pleading with you to believe him, you peeked up from behind your arms, finally allowing your red and swollen eyes to meet his own pair of red tinted shiny eyes. In that moment, you had no doubt he was telling the truth.

"I know, Jiminie. I believe you." You mumbled through your tears, grabbing and squeezing his hand that was on your ankle.

Jimin sighed in relief but continued to cry. "I'm so sorry I scared you, baby. I'm so sorry." He apologized, lifting your hand to his lips and kissing it over and over again. "I shouldn't have gotten so angry."

"Can I pick you up?" He cautiously asked, eager to get off the stairs so he could properly embrace you.

After you nodded, he moved forward and nudged you to wrap your legs around his waist and your arms around his neck, holding on tight as he stood and descended the stairs. Carefully, he walked into his living room and sat on the large couch, keeping you straddled on his lap.

Though your sobbing had subsided somewhat, tears continued to slowly flow, and subsequent hiccups and sniffling persisted as remnants of your outburst. Although your runny nose and watering eyes dampened his shirt because of the way you buried your face in the crook of his neck, Jimin couldn't care less. He was just beyond relieved that you still trusted him enough to seek his comfort.

"I'm so sorry." He kept repeating as he rubbed his hand up and down your back. "I'm so sorry."

It took nearly ten more minutes for your breathing to steady and your crying to cease along with his. Slowly, you pulled away from him so that you could look into his eyes. "Can I explain to you why I need to go to Tokyo now?" You nervously asked, hesitant to bring the subject up again.

The thought of you there with Hyunwoo made Jimin unenthusiastic, but he nodded, laying back on the couch to get more comfortable with his head propped up on the armrest. You remained on top of him, but then shifted so that one leg was tangled between both on his and your head rested on his chest as your finger traced invisible shapes on his upper torso.

"I promise that I don't really want to go to Japan." You whispered. "I'd much rather be right here with you."

"Then why don't you stay?" He whined, tightening his hold on you.

You sighed, wishing you could.  "You know how tired I am of being at the office from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday trying to finish all the tedious work that the senior employees keep piling on my desk. It takes away so much time that I could be spending with you, or at least sleeping so that I could be in a better mood when I see you." You forced a small chuckle, but neither of you were really in a jovial mood. "I don't know...maybe I'm being too ambitious, but I really think this opportunity could be another step towards a promotion, which would mean more control over my work hours and more time with you. This is just one offer, and maybe there will be more, but I'm scared that if I turn it down, my boss will think I'm not serious about this job and then I'll never move up in the company."

You craned your neck slightly to see Jimin's reaction. The frown that greeted you was worrying, but it was still an improvement compared to the angry scowl he wore earlier. "I understand, and I'm sorry that I wouldn't listen earlier, but why does it have to be Hyunwoo? Of all people, why him?"

"I'm sorry, Jiminie." You apologized, pecking his chin before scooting forward and raising up on the couch slightly so that you were at eye level hovering over him.

"I wish it wasn't him too." You said, giving Jimin another kiss on his cheek, each peck compelling a small smile to grow on his lips. "If I had any say in the matter..." You paused to kiss his other cheek. "I'd take you instead." Finally, your lips met his.

Jimin lifted his hand to tuck some loose strands of hair behind your ear before cupping your jaw, his hold firm but gentle while his lips moved softly under yours. Right as the kiss began to deepen, he pulled back a little, your now heavy breaths mixing together in the small space between you.

"What if you did take me?" He whispered, nervously searching your eyes for an answer. "I know you're going to be busy with work stuff, but we could at least spend a little time together when you're free. Even if I only get to see you for ten minutes, I'd be happy."

Your eyes brightened at his suggestion. "You'd really go all the way to Japan for me?"

Jimin nodded proudly. "Of course." He smirked. "Just be sure to tell your boss tomorrow morning that she needs to cancel your plane ticket because you'll be flying first class, babygirl."

You giggled, playfully rolling your eyes at the feigned hubris in his tone. "I'm pretty sure the company already has us flying first class."

Jimin's smirk dropped. "Well, tell her to cancel it anyways." He grumbled, abruptly grabbing your waist and rolling you over so that he was on top. "Because you won't be sitting by anyone but me on that plane, got it?"

Your laughter increased at the sight of him trying to act dominant but just appearing cute and pouty. "Aww, Jiminie." You cooed, reaching up to run your fingers through his hair, completely endeared by your adorable boyfriend.

He continued to pout, but his eyes became stern and he placed his forehead on yours. "I said, do you understand?"

Your laughter died down some and your heart rate increased due to his closeness, but you still had to bite your bottom lip to suppress the sporadic giggles that persisted. "Aye aye, captain." You managed to answer with a nod of certainty, barely containing your amusement.

"Good." Jimin smirked again, briefly nuzzling his forehead against yours before cutting off any and all potential giggles with a long, passionate kiss.
