Long Way Home

Backstory.

I could hear the screams and cries of the girls behind me, I was nervous, my hands were clammy as I continued to wipe them on my jeans, Wren sat beside me, the only thing being able to keep me sane right now, looking to her she laughed to what Ash and Mikey had to say.

My eyes connected with Calum's piercing beautiful brown eyes as he gave me a soft smile, assuring me it was okay with a soft nod. No one knew about the secrets that hid behind close doors, away from the cameras and chaos.

We both sat their for a good hour, listening to fans asking questions, the boys answering. Wren being Wren had to put her inappropriate humour out there and surprisingly it was actually funny this time. I choked on my salvia as i listened to the next question.

"We know some of the band members are single so this questions for you, most of us fans are wondering if y'all have any love interests yet?" My eyes flickered to Wren to see her reaction and all she did was let out a nervous laugh.

"On behalf on the single members i pass this one off to ash" Calum spoke up, I wanted to hear this as much as Wren did. "We both have recently found love interests but we also love to keep our personal lives private, well at-least for now." I gave a small smile to them all, wanting nothing more for this to be over.

As soon as Wren and i got the AOK to leave, we stood up, finding Bruce and Greg they lead us into the car the boys who would soon get into, I shoved Wren as she climbed over me, trying to get the best seat i laughed as she got stuck between the chairs and the roof, "You're an idiot." I snorted and pushed her, trying to untangle her from the mess she out herself into. Feeling the a cold rush of air fill the car, I moved so the guys could get in as fast as they could.

"Hey" I smiled, leaning  over to give Cal a quick kiss i smiled at him. "you're fans are quite something, i never knew they could get that wild" I laughed before hitting Wren on her arm. "Not as wild as me and ash in bed!" she whooped, i groaned and rolled my eyes hearing the other guys laugh as Ash blushed in embarrassment.

"Babe no need to be shy, they probably aren't as good in bed as you" She smiled and kissed him. "Carter" Calum mumbled, kissing the side of my head, i hummed as i grabbed his hand, looking at him. "We've gotta talk when we get home M'Kay?" I nodded, pressing a kiss to his hand.

As we arrived home, I picked up an overly excited duke from the floor, Luke and Micheal rushed to give their own girlfriends as they all greeted each other, letting duke down i followed Cal outside so he could have his cigarette. "We've gotta talk about us coming out to everyone." He stated as he lit the cancer stick, i could've sworn my heart dropped deep into the pits of my stomach.

"Cal- I, We've been over this, I'm just not comfortable with all the attention, i don't want the spotlight on me-" He cut me off. "tonight at the interview its just, i gave a-lot of thought to the question we were asked and i want to be able to hold your hands in public, i want to be able to take you on dates, i want to show you off to the world baby but you wont let me so please, just please see this from my perspective" He sighed, i watched the smoke from his smoke flow through the air.

"I do see it from yours Cal, i do but have you tried seeing it from mine? Im not worried about the hate or the news articles, Im scared of loosing every tiny detail of my whole life to the world, i mean as an example, Crystal is the most down to earth nicest human being but she receives so much hate for her past, nothing about her is a secret" I groan, putting my head into my hands as I take a deep breath in.

What would Wren say?

Oh shut it.

"Babe- you wont be alone, you have us seven to back you up, we've got you.. just- I get if you say no. I just don't want to hide any longer then we have too, because now you're being selfish." I furrowed my eyebrows and sighed, finally giving in. "okay, we'll announce it, now before i change my mind" I whispered and pressed a kiss to his cheek, i grabbed my phone, picking our favourite picture as he most likely did the same.

As we watched the likes, my followers and the amount of twitter tags and comments, we both turned out phones of. Sitting with our friends and animals was the only thing i needed right now.

"i love you" i told Calum, watching his eyes love from the screen to me, with a soft smile i closed my eyes as he kissed my forehead. "I love you too."
