Long Way Home

It was awkward, between me and Wren, i didn't know what to say but we managed to move past what she said, last night we both ended up staying here, Calum and i spent a while talking, afterwards i sat with ashton inside as wren and cal went outside for a smoke. 

It was nice that Ashton and I got a chance to talk between ourselves, he told me how he was scared of leaving wren, he told me how much he liked her but was too afraid to ask her to be his girlfriend because he was leaving. 

Wren and i left around breakfast, both of the guys going to hang out with their families, wren went to uni and i stayed home, staring at my laptop for hours as i finger hovered over the keyboard, i couldn't just sit here and do nothing with my life, i had to move on from my dreams and find new ones. 

I never realised how late it got till Wren, Ash and Cal walked into my room. I looked to the time and sighed, rubbing my tired eyes. "What are you guys doing here?" I mumbled and shut the laptop, Calum grabbing my hands to pull me out of the chair, "Were going to dinner with the gang and then we all decided to go ice skating, no excuses" Wren stated, throwing my clothes at me. 

Calum gave me a soft kiss before leaving me to shower, I changed quickly, applying a small amount of makeup is slipped my shoes on and grabbed my bag and phone, walking to the living room i was greeted with mikeys back, i laughed and pushed him away as i rubbed my nose. "Sorry mike" I smiled and gave crystal a quick hug. 

After we all sat down on the couch i zoned out, leaning on calums shoulder as they decided where we would go for dinner, i was gently nudged by cal. "Carter?" he whispered, I nodded and agreed with what luke suggested, my mind was somewhere else, i wanted to be alone but i didn't at the same time, and that annoyed me.

As we sat at the table, the guys were paranoid about fans seeing them as well as Wren and I. I sat between Cal and Sierra, listening to everyone conversations I blankly stared at the menu, I quickly told the waiter what i wanted before excusing myself to go to the bathroom. This wasn't me, i was a talkative person.

"Everything okay, Carter?" Sierra asked from beside me,  i gave her a small reassuring smile. 

"im good, thank you" I whispered and looked over at wren, seeing her hold a glass of wine, i sighed. When did my best friend not have alcohol with her?

Calum placed his hand on my knee as he spoke to Luke, bromance, s'cute. After eating dinner we walked outside, pulling wren back with me as i noticed the group of girls waiting outside, they all immediately started talking and taking photos with everyone, trying to be discrete we walked around them. Getting into the car i sighed, playing on my phone till they got here.

After about twenty minutes of waiting I closed my eyes and leaned against the window, maybe it was a mistake? maybe this could've all been prevent and i could have saved myself from 'heartbreak.' At the time i was sure of my decisions but it never occurred to me that the six people I became close with would move across the world. 

"Sorry about that, we didn't realise people saw us" Micheal apologised as they all piled in, "No, don't apologise, its okay" i smiled, looking at Calum as he spoke to me. "i don't think they saw us, if they did- i'm sorry." Pressing a kiss to his lips i smiled as Luke laughed loudly. "i find it so funny that all of us have a person, y'know like Ash with Wren and Cal with Carter- its nice to see us all together." Everyone nodded in agreement as the car started to move.

Getting to the ice rink i was surprised to see not a-lot of people there before crystal told me that they hired the hall out for the night so we wouldn't be interrupted, i hated ice skating, i was way too uncoordinated for this.

"I think I bruised my ass" Mikey laugh, taking his shoes off. 

"Yeah mine too, sierra babe please fix my buns" Luke giggled and kissed her cheek.

"You guys suck, ice skating isn't that hard" Ashton mumbled and pushed cal in a playful way, resulting in Calum falling on his ass.

"Easy for you to say, it comes natural to you"  Wren smiled taking her shoes off in the proccess.

"But can we talk about the fact Carter and Calum couldn't keep their eyes off each other, they were like eye f**king in the middle of the rink" Crystal spoke, my jaw dropped as Wren agreed. 

"Not even!" I defended myself, helping Calum up only for me to fall onto the cold ice with him, i groaned and gently hit is arm. "Rude" I got up with great difficulty, helping cal as well.

Due to Crystal demanding we take a photo I wrapped my arm around calums and lukes waist i smiled for the photo. we ended up taking a few, telling crystal to send them to me i smiled in awe at them, we'd make cute babies.

Getting back to cals apartment, wren and ash told us they wanted to be alone for the night so they went back to our apartment. I plopped down on his couch, smiling widely as duke jumped onto my chest, "Hi baby" I cooed and kissed his head and i petted his fur, "you leave me tomorrow, but thats okay- ill tell Calum to make sure you get all the attention you deserve."

Duke wondered off into the kitchen so I assumed cal left food out, looking around the room is aw how empty it looked, their suitcases already packed up, I closed my eyes for a brief moment, opening them to see calum hovering over me. "well this is a nice view" i giggled, running my fingers through his curls as he gently kissed my neck. 

"Im going to miss you" he mumbled against my skin, closing my eyes at the contact i let out a breath of air i didn't know i was holding as he kissed down my jawline. "Im gonna miss you too cal, alot" I spoke softly, not really trusting my own voice.

After a very intense make-out session we cuddled on the couch, a random movie playing softly in the background, i closed my eyes as i rested my head on his chest as he played with my hair "you're so beautiful, carr" I smiled and lifted my head up to look at him. "and you're so handsome, cal."

Migrating upstairs i crawled under his sheeted and traced my finger along his tattoos, "we can make this work right?" I whispered and licked my lips, he nodded and held me close, "We can make this work."

Standing in the airport made me feel as if i would pass out at any moment, what sucked is we all had to keep a close eye out to see if anyone noticed the guys, thankfully onea few people did but both wren and i managed to hide.

I hugged all the boys goodbye, telling ash to keep and eye on Calum for me, i know it sounded dumb when i did ask but I generally wanted someone looking out for him.

"come see me, use your plane ticket and come see me whenever you want okay?" Calum told me as he wrapped his arms around me tightly, i buried my face in his chest and told myself not to cry, i nodded as we held each other, it was easy for Crystal and Sierra as they were flying back over with them. 

Kissing him goodbye i finally let my tears fall, holding onto Wrens arm we gave our last goodbyes - for now - before watching them board the plane.

ehhhh, i dunno how to feel about this but oh well, i kinda feel like writing isn't me but i hope you enjoyed it hehe.
