Long Way Home

Waking up to the sun I let out a groan and rolled over, my head hitting someones chest I had to remind myself that i had fallen asleep in Calum's bed, enjoying the warmth from the male I decided to get up and make food, closing the blinds fully I made sure he was still sleeping. I gently petted Duke as he slept at the bottom of the bed. 

Making my way downstairs I found Wren going through their cupboards like a maniac. "You okay?" I laughed, opening the pantry to see if i could find a pancake mix, "Im trying to find the coffee and a painkiller, my head hurts" she shushed me, I hit her head and pointed to the bench. "the coffee is right there, and if you looked hard enough, theres ibuprofen right next to it." 

I successfully found the pancake mixture, grabbing the pan after the help of Wren I started the batter, it was only 5am, why the hell was the sun so bright.  "So.. you and ash huh?" I asked Wren watching her as drank her coffee, placing mine down beside me.  "We didn't even have sex, shut up- lets just talk about the fact everyone saw you and Calum eating each others faces" I raised my eyebrow and hit her arm, "not even!" I huffed, looking to the food I was cooking. Hearing her mumble something about the clothes i was wearing. "oh shut up, your wearing ash' shirt bi*ch."

"You've got to stop hitting me." she groaned, hitting my back. "and be quiet, don't wake them you idiot." I set the cooked food down onto a plate letting her take a few. "It wasn't even like that Wren, I mean you and Ashton were absent the whole night, what did you two, hmm?" I questioned, washing everything i just used. "we just talked, i mean like really talked- yeah i got a little drunk but me and Ash just had a really heartfelt conversation, we just get each other." 

Taking a sip from my coffee i sat down beside her. "And you figured that out from one night?" Eating the portion Wren made me i wrapped the leftovers and placed them in the microwave. "if you're happy, i'm happy" i shrugged as she told me the same thing. "Okay but have you seen their piano? I have no clue on how they got it in here, its that big." Grabbing her arm i pulled her to where it sat.

Although I wasn't a singer, i was still somewhat good at playing instruments, Wren and I had been working on a song called 'Free', sitting down on stool I placed my hands on the keys, telling myself not to mess it up as i had to play for memory. The song had represented a-lot about us, it took us forever to write the entire piece but it was my favourite so far and Wren sung it beautifully.

As i played the last keys, clapping started from behind us, I dropped my hands onto my lap as we both turned around to look at both Ash and Cal, smiles on both their faces. "Carter do you sing?" Ashton asked, I laughed and shook my head. "No, i sound like a dying whale, Wrens the singer, i just play- well I mostly suck but i try" I confirmed with a smile as he nodded. "you guys wrote that?" she nodded and stood up. "yeap, i did most of the hard work but Carter is lying, give her a song and she'll know how to play it- except for your songs, she only knows one." I hit wren only for her to punch me back. I frowned at her and push her away from me. 

"Carter made pancakes for you guys- We were hungry so I hope you don't mind" Wren smiled, grabbing Ashtons hand as they walked to the kitchen together. I hummed and looked back to admire the piano again, "so, you don't know any of our songs huh?" Cal asked, taking a seat beside me, I hummed and nodded softly looking at him. "don't sue me but i had no clue who your band was till yesterday.I think the only song ive ever heard was that 'She looks so perfect'  one years ago?" I shrugged as he laughed, "those were the days, I hate that song now- but we still somehow manage to open with it every tour."

After eating breakfast we both spent the day with the guys, spending the day on the couches as we watched disney movies- Only because Wren argued with me over it, I honestly didn't like disney movies as much as I used too. "what time do you leave tomorrow night, Carter" Wren asked, I moved my gaze to her. "uh my flight leaves around 8pm tomorrow" I mumbled and looked back to the tv, I was nervous, something inside of me was telling me that i wouldn't pass or that no hospital would except me. I took in a deep breath, trying to convince myself it would be fine. 

"Ill see you tomorrow before you go, okay?" Calum pulled me in for a hug, I nodded and smiled to myself, as we pulled away I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "good, ill message you later or something." I said a quick goodbye to Duke and Ash as well. "It was nice meeting you Ash, I defiantly think il be seeing you more, it seems like Wren already likes you." With a quick hug we both waved goodbye and got into our uber back to my house. 

"I honestly didn't want to leave, Carter." She mumbled from beside me, i nodded in agreement. "You hardly know the guy, Wren, i agree with you but calm down a tad, yeah?" I sighed and walked inside. After eating dinner with the family, Wren and I laid beside each other not saying a word. "If we dated them- you know how messy this would get, like i mean the fans and everything" I whispered, looking to my phone seeing if cal had messaged me, i turned my phone off and just gossiped with wren for the next few hours, i studied as much as i could before falling asleep.
