Darkness . . . That's all I can see. I'm floating endlessly as voices past through me.
"Disgrace!!" a furious female voice screams past me. The sound of a slap across the face echos almost deafening. "That is what you are! I told you not to speak with them - and what do you do? You run off, and speak to them! I'll make sure you never get to see them again!!"
A horrific, bloodcurdling scream replaces the female's angry shouts. But the scream belonged to no man or woman - but a child. "Wahh . . ." the cries of a child zip past me. "Please . . . I'm sorry . . ."

"Do you think your friend is-""No . . . She's alive - a fall like that won't kill her . . ."
"No! I know she's not dead, I was going to say asleep!"
I slowly wake up to a bright light and the warmth of someone's hand clasping mine. My eyes open to the sight of a relieved Cloud and an unfamiliar girl, with a red bolero jacket over a light pink dress. Cloud cradles me in his arms, as his eyes light up at the sight of me waking up. He gives my hand a small squeeze which calms me down."How's the leg?" his asks. "Bleeding's stopped, I think." I get up with the help of Cloud. For some strange reason, my leg didn't hurt at all!
"Aerith Gainsborough. You okay?" the girl smiles, her green orbs meet mine. Aerith observes me closely, and in a strange way. "Celeste Castel, at your service," I bow my head to Aerith - introducing myself. "I'm fine, and thanks for saving us."
"Actually, I didn't do anything." Aerith motions to the flowers Cloud and I were standing on top of. "These little guys did."
"O-Oh!" Cloud and I quickly jump out of the flower bed, in fear of killing Aerith's flowers. "Don't worry," Aerith giggles. "These guys are tougher than they look." Cloud wanders around a bit, while I ask Aerith our location. "The Church in Sector 5 Slums."
