"Don't worry.." Me and Matty were now sitting side by side overlooking a little park. We'd just finished up the Cookies- slightly too quickly I might add. "..My family have a whole life going on without me present" he says matter of factly. I look up at him but Matty seems miles away. I don't want to tell him he is wrong to make him feel better. I don't know him well enough to do that.
"Anyway.." I begin, attempting to change to subject. "where's the nearest tube station from here?" I ask riffling through Flo's purse. I sigh realising how long is going to take to get home. I don't think Matty's even listening anymore. I don't blame him. "Greeaaat, I haven't even got my earphones." I mutter under breath without thinking. I find Flo's Oyster card and stand up. "Well eh, it was nice talking to you.." I was really shit at awkward goodbyes. "Erm" what am I supposed to say? Matty wasn't even looking at me. "Yeah, see you" I walk away quickly.
"Hey wait!" I hear him call. I stop and turn around confused he's right behind me. "Sorry I just get distracted sometimes, didn't mean to be a dick" I've been ignored before, I was going to tell him. "Come round to mine, it's not far. I'll get a car to drive you home" he smiles seeming optimistic. Everything it telling me to say no, past experience is telling me to say no. I don't even know him. "Stay, I don't want you to go yet" I look around unsure "stay."
