As I start on my fifth homework question, the door knob twists and the door creeks open. My mom walks through the door looking worried, stressed and very tired. "I'm so sorry I'm late flower" thats her nickname for me since I'm named after the Lilly flower, "there was construction going on a little whiles way from the square and one of the towns peoples houses is pretty close so it took twice as long to get around" she says plunking down the little money she had extra after going to the market and the bag that carries the food. "It's okay, I did the dishes and
I'm starting on my second to last question" "oh, good, did you hear about the announcement that is playing tonight? They announced it on everyones screens, I was allowed to stop cleaning to listen in" she says unpacking the food "yeah, they announced it over the intercom at school" I say starting on my sixth question. "The good thing about today is since I made more yesterday then I usually do, I got more food and supplies then usual, I also made some extra money today since I went to four extra houses today" my mom says. Yay! I think to myself, maybe I'll get oranges for breakfast tomorrow again!

Once my mom finishes making dinner she places it in front of me. Chicken soup. With real chicken! And a piece of non-stale bread, I can't even imagine how much this would cost, real chicken? How?! I don't question it any more, my stomach takes over, and I dig in. Once I'm finished, I see that my mother got the same amount of food as me, she usually only gets, maybe, a fifth of what I get. A few suspicions arise but I brush them off. She would never break the law, and if she did, who cares? Almost everyone has. As long as we both have enough to eat, I'm happy.
