"Naruto, you're home," you whispered softly, "What took you so long?" You had to be patient. You had to be calm, you had to keep the beast within you quiet. Though you had been waiting for Naruto for almost four hours, you had to act like you were okay with it. You had just been practicing it yesterday. What had she said? Oh, that's right...deep breaths. You slowly placed your hands into your pockets.

"Well?" In. Out. "Out with it!" Naruto raised his chin up, for a split second. His eyes met yours.

"I'm sorry..." He muttered. Sorry? That's all he had to say? He promised to be back by five. He told you that he would not be late by a second. You told him that you were going to "surprise him". Now the warm, fresh pudding was all cold and hard.

"Where were you?" You exclaimed. You were worried sick. Every time you try to please him, it's all in vain. Naruto sighed.

"I just went to the park with Iruka. We got some ramen too. I'm sorry, I forgot, okay?" He said disdainfully.

"Naruto...I get it. But, please, next time," you whispered, "Don't forget. It's late now. You know me and you are both independent. I'm not your mom, your not my son. We're just siblings, okay? I need to go somewhere, I trust you. Take care of yourself." Naruto nodded and smiled.

There. It was easier than expected. A calm, kind approach. It was already making you feel better. You grabbed the pudding from the kitchen and stepped out into the moonlight.

It wasn't that late. But people in the Leaf Village liked to go to bed early. That's not what you preferred, though. You liked to stay up late so you could watch the moon and the stars twinkle in the night and see the silhouettes of trees, and see the lake glisten on the surface.

You headed over to Sakura's place. Since the pudding was not eatable to either you or Naruto (you both preferred warm food), you decided to give it to Sakura. It shouldn't go to waste. You reached for the doorbell but realized everyone was sleeping already. Instead, you placed the pudding on the doorstep and walked away.

The streets were almost empty. Heck with it. You smiled and cut across the forest. The long way was always the most scenic. It was beautiful. The soft chirps of the crickets and the leafs crunching beneath your feet. Other than that, it was silent. You looked towards the grass, which had nuts scattered along with it. You bent down and examined each and every acorn and leaf.

You kept walking, head down, picking up the smallest pieces. Everything had seemingly disappeared around you, and all that was left was you and nature. You picked up a faster pace.

Then, you hit something hard. You flew back in shock and fright. You didn't manage to catch yourself before you fell. Ow, that hurt. You collided with the ground.

Damn it. What the hell was that? Brushing off your sides, you stood up. Looking towards the place where you collided, you saw absolutely nothing. Not a tree, not anyone. You grimaced. The hell?

Suddenly, you heard a soft voice behind you.

"Sorry about that!" and a chuckle. It was a man's voice. Clearly, older than you. You turned around, quickly and cautiously. You squinted through the darkness.

Yes, your assumptions were correct. It was a male, a few years older than you. He had a mask covering his nose and mouth, and he had the leaf village headband covering his left eye. He had silver hair and his revealing eye was closed, looking like he was smiling. He was wearing a Jonin uniform. He was tall. He, might you dare say, was very handsome.

You looked him up and down quickly, sighed, and smiled.

"No, I should be sorry. I didn't know where I was going. Oh, how dumb of me. Almost a Jonin and doing these kinds of dumb things. I'm so sorry..." You muttered.

He placed a hand on your shoulder.

"It's perfectly fine to be clumsy. We all have our faults." He nodded. "What's your name, might I ask?"

"Miteri. Miteri Uzumaki. And you?"

"Kakashi Hatake."

It was your first time hearing his name. You adjusted your ponytail.

"I should be on my way, now. My brother is probably waiting for me." (Though you had told him to go to sleep without her).

"Alright, same with me. It was nice meeting you, Miteri. I hope we meet again."

And we went on our own ways. It was a beautiful night. And it was...amazing to meet him. You weren't sure whether you would meet again. But you sure hoped so.
