The next morning, I woke up to Adam rubbing my arms and the sound of a machine. I opened my eyes and looked around, I saw my mask on me and the tv on. I sat up a bit."What's going on?" I asked.
"You were coughing a lot in your sleep, Hayes told me to start a treatment on you," Adam said, sitting up with me.I sighed, I laid back on Adam.
"How do you feel?" He asked.
"Sore," I told him.He rubbed my arm, I looked up at him.
"How about we go get something to eat when your treatment finishes?" He said.
I nodded, I curled into him and shut my eyes, letting out a deep breath. About a minute or two later, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in," Adam said.
Adam fixed my hair, combing it back with his hand. I sighed.
"Adam? Who is this?" I heard an older woman.
I opened my eyes and saw an older man and woman walk in.
"Mom, Dad, what are you doing here?" Adam sat up a little, still making sure I was comfortable.
"We wanted to check up on what was happening at South Shore. We haven't heard about any updates." Adam's dad said.
"Oh. This is Abby, my mate." Adam looked down at me.
I waved a bit, "is she ok?" Adam's mom asked.
"Yeah, she has asthma, Hayes told me to start a treatment for her. She was coughing a lot in her sleep." Adam explained.
"Well when she's done with that, meet us down in the kitchen, your dad and I are gonna make breakfast for the pack." Adam's mom said.Adam nodded and his parents walked out, closing the door behind them. After the treatment finished, Adam and I got out of bed and I slipped on one of Adam's hoodies. I sighed and Adam looked at me.
"Are you ok, babe?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around me.
"Just feel so tired," I said.
"Come on, maybe some coffee will help." He said.
"Can I jump on your back?" I asked.
"Yeah." He said.I climbed on his back and wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his shoulders. Adam walked down to the kitchen and sat me at the counter, he turned and looked at me.
"You're pale, Abby," Adam said, feeling my head.
"Just need to eat something, probably" I said.
"Here, have some coffee, the food will be ready in a bit." Adam's mom slid a cup of coffee towards me.
"Thank you," I said. She nodded and smiled a small smile. I drank some and sighed.
"Her color is coming back." Adam's mom told Adam.
"Yeah, she's still pale though," Adam said.I grabbed his hand.
"I'm fine, it's probably from yesterday," I said.
"What happened yesterday?" Adam's dad asked from the stove.
"We were training and Raz had her pinned and she started having an asthma attack," Adam explained.
"How does she have asthma? We've never come across that before." Adam's mom asked.
"We don't know, when Abby got here, I was getting her something to eat, she had an asthma attack and Hayes doesn't know how that's affecting her," Adam explained.
"How about she eats and then if she doesn't look or feel better afterward then we can take her to Dr.Hayes." Adam's dad suggested.Adam nodded and sat with me till food was ready, Adam served a plate for himself and I. After eating, I still didn't feel the greatest, I didn't eat much, I lost my appetite about a quarter in.
"Excuse me, I'm gonna go to the bathroom," I said.
I stood up from the counter and walked down the hall, I walked into the bathroom and sighed, I splashed some water on my face. I leaned on the counter and looked at myself in the mirror, I looked as white as paper. It felt hard to breathe, there was a knock on the door.
