We all started moving towards the pond Tahlia drew. Once we got there, I got a whiff of a scent that brought tears to my eyes. I looked around.

"Abigail?" I heard my mom's voice.

I turned to my left and saw my parents looking at us. I covered my face with both hands as tears started streaming down my face. I ran over to them and hugged them.

"I thought you were dead! They told me you were dead!" I cried.
"They told us you were dead! They locked us in this cage!" Dad spoke.

I looked up at them.

"You're so beautiful." Mom said, cupping my face in her hands.
I smiled, "Abby." I heard Adam behind me.

I looked back.

"We should get them back to the house, get them checked out, we don't know what they've been exposed to." He said.

I nodded.

"Who is this?" Dad asked.
"Mom, Dad, this is Adam, my mate," I introduced.

Mom and dad smiled down at me.

"We've missed you." Mom kissed my head.
"I've missed you too," I said.
"Come on, let's get you to our pack doctor, get you checked out. There are a lot of things we need to talk about."

They nodded and we started walking back. Once we got to the packhouse, we took my parents straight to Dr.Hayes.

"You know, your daughter is a natural-born leader, even though everything she's been through, she still stands up to fight for what's right," Dr.Hayes said after taking everything to run tests.
"We know," Dad said.

I smiled.

"Glad to know that things are finally looking up. I'll have these tests done soon." Dr.Hayes said, standing up.

We nodded and left the office, then went to Adams Office.

"Markus, Jennifer, you're Abby's parents?" Adams's parents asked.
"Yeah, we would've told you, but things got so complicated over there we never got the chance. Then Daren's parents took over." Mom hugged Karyn.
"How do you guys know each other?" Adam and I asked.
"We've been friends for a long time. We just didn't know you were their daughter." Andres said.

I took a deep breath.

"So what did we miss?" Dad asked.
"How about we leave you three alone to talk?" Karyn suggested.

We nodded and Adam and his parents walked out. I looked at mom and dad.

"You might want to sit, it's a long story," I said.

We all sat on the couch against the wall and I sat between them. I explained everything that happened from when I was first thrown into that basement to beating up Darren to finding them at the pond.

"I knew we should've started preparing you earlier." Mom said.
"We're so sorry," Dad said.
"It's ok, I'm just glad you guys are alive and home," I said.

Mom and dad hugged me, I smiled.

After a while, I took mom and dad to a guest room where they could get cleaned up and I gave them some new clothes. I walked downstairs to the kitchen where I found Adam and his parents. Adam looked over at me.

"How'd it go?" Adam asked as I got to him.
"As expected. There were a lot of tears. But I got my parents back and that's what I'm happy about." I smiled up at him.
"They'll be enrolled in the pack by tomorrow." Adam smiled down at me.
"Hopefully now things can start slowing down. So many things have happened in just a couple of days." I said.
"Yeah, we need a break," Adam said.
"You guys need a date night," Karyn said leaning on the counter.
"I don't think we've even gone on a date," I looked up at Adam.
"Emergency mate day! Called it!" Adam pointed at me and threw his arms up.

I laughed at him.

"Emergency mate day?" Andres asked.
"A couple of weeks ago, Jade and the girls called an emergency girls day because Maria was going through a breakup. Adam didn't want me to go but Jade would've skinned me alive, so Adam said he was gonna do an emergency mate day one day." I explained.

Karyn chuckled a little.

"They're perfect for each other." I heard my mom.
"Well good, they're mates," Karyn said.

I hugged my mom.

"I'm noticing how much you guys look alike." Adam looked at me and my mom.
"Where do you think she gets all the beauty from?" Mom asked.
"This side of the family." Dad walked over and picked us up and spun us around.

I laughed.

"Definitely not, she gets her goofy side from you." Mom said.

I smiled at them.

"I definitely get all the beauty from mom, we're both Maltese tigers."
"You know it." Mom hit her hip on mine.
"Where does that leave me?" Dad pouted.
"I get my silliness from you," I said.
"You should've seen her the other day, she was hanging off Adam like a monkey," Andres said.
"I can always do it again." I smiled.
"I would pay to see that." Mom chuckled.
"I'd do it for free, it was kinda fun."
"Remember when you did do it, blue took over and when you came back you got a headache," Adam said, trying to get me to not climb on him again.
"But it was funny." I smiled at him.
"You're gonna do it again, aren't you?" he dropped his shoulders.
"Yes." My eyes flashed blue as Blue came to the surface.
"Then you'll have to catch me first."

Adam ran down the hall and I chased after him. I caught up to him and jumped on his back. he stopped and groaned playfully, I threw myself over his shoulder and hung upside down like I did the other day. Adam walked back in defeat and our parents laughed. Andres handed dad twenty dollars.

"Andres thought you couldn't catch him." Mom said.
"I told you not to underestimate her," Dad said.

I chuckled. Adam turned to the fridge and grabbed some fruits.

"How long can she stay like that?" Mom asked.
"Last time she got off because there was food, so we don't know exactly," Karyn said.
"It might be a while," Adam said.
