The next day, I woke up in bed. I looked around and saw Adam next to me with his arms wrapped around me. I grabbed his hand, lacing our fingers. It was still a little dark out, I looked at the clock next to the bed and saw it read 5:30 am. The twins kicked me and I sighed, they were up so now I was up. I moved Adam's arms and sat up. Adam sighed and moved around.
"What are you doing up?" He asked.
"The twins are up and I can't sleep. Go back to sleep, you need it." I said, kissing his hand.
"Where are you going?" He asked, somewhat into the pillow his face was smashed in.
"Downstairs to find something to eat, I'll be fine, go back to sleep," I said.I got up and walked downstairs, I went into the kitchen and found Dad making a pot of coffee.
"What are you doing up this early?" I asked, standing next to him.
"I woke up early, couldn't fall back asleep. Why are you up?" He asked, wrapping an arm around me.
"I woke up, then the twins woke up and started kicking, there was no way I could get them to calm down so I could go back to sleep," I said.
"Well, how about some breakfast?" Dad suggested.
"Sounds really good," I said.
"Sit, I'll cook." He said.I nodded and sat at the counter.
"I haven't heard that story in so long," I said.
Dad looked back at me.
"Yeah, it was the only story that would ever calm you down. When you were little you got sick a lot like any child did and you had asthma on top of it, you hated the sound of the breathing machine so I would sit with you and tell you that story and you'd fall asleep every time. Still works like a charm apparently." He chuckled.
I smiled a bit, after a couple of minutes, Dad set some breakfast in front of me. I started eating, then after a bit, I looked up at Dad.
"I want you guys to keep looking into the Aura stuff and the stuff with Daren's parents, I just don't want to be apart of it. I just want to focus on the twins." I said.
Dad nodded.
"Well, we never stopped looking into all the Aura stuff, we just kept you and Adam out of the loop," Dad said.
"I thought I told you not to," I said.
"Well, Adam asked if we could keep searching, asked to keep you guys out of the loop so you guys could focus on you feeling ok and the twins could be healthy." He said.
"Find anything out?" I asked.
"We found out a lot, but I'm not gonna tell you anything because that defeats the purpose of keeping you out of the loop till the twins being born." Dad smiled.
"Right, just the curious side of me," I said.Later on, Adam came down and hugged me from behind. I rubbed his arms and looked up at him. He smiled and kissed my forehead.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
"Good, Dad made breakfast," I said.
"I was worried about you yesterday." He said.
"I know. That was probably the most I've ever been scared in a while. I haven't been that scared since we were first thrown into that basement." I said.
"I know," Adam said.Adam and I relaxed on the couch for a while, Jade and Kyle joined us after a bit. I started to feel off and I sat up trying to get comfortable.
"What's wrong, love?" Adam asked.
"Just feel off all of a sudden," I said.
"What do you mean?" He sat up and looked at me.
"I don't know, I just got this feeling that's off, like something's wrong," I said.
"With what? With you? The twins?" He asked.
"I don't know," I said.
"How about we go to Hayes, just to make sure." He suggested.I nodded, Adam got up and helped me stand. Jade and Kyle walked with us and we all walked into Hayes's office.
"Ok, who are we here for?" Hayes walked over.
"Abby," Adam said.
"What's wrong?" Hayes asked.
"I started getting this feeling that somethings wrong, but I'm not sure what it is," I said.
"Well, we can do an ultrasound, see if both the twins are flipped and you missed the other one, also check if anything is not right." He said.I nodded and sat on a bed, lifting my shirt. Hayes squirted the gel onto my stomach and moved the stick around.
"Looks like only one of them is flipped, and he's still upside down, give him some time, he'll flip over. But everything looks good, nothing looks out of the ordinary." He said.
"Then why am I getting this overwhelming feeling that somethings gonna go wrong?" I asked.
"May just be hormones or anxiety for yesterday's events, it's probably nothing, don't stress about it," Hayes told me, handing me a towel to clean off my stomach.I nodded. We left and sat in the living room again.
The off feeling stayed for a week. One morning, Adam was downstairs in the kitchen eating breakfast. I sat up and suddenly felt one of the twins move and more pressure on my pelvis. I let out a breath and grabbed the counter. Adam looked up at me.
"What? What's wrong?" He asked.
"I think the other twin just flipped," I said.
"What?" He asked, walking around and over to me.Adam pressed both hands to my round belly and I guided his hands where I felt them. He smiled.
"What did I walk into?" Jade asked, walking into the kitchen.
"The other twin finally flipped." I looked over at her.I immediately felt the bad feeling I've had all week become a lot worse. I let out a shaky breath.
"Relax, what's wrong?" Adam cupped my face in his hands.
"Adam! Abby!" I heard Kyle.Kyle ran in with a couple of warriors and I looked over.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"There are rogues outside," Kyle said.
"How many?" Adam asked.
"Hundreds," Kyle said.
"We could easily shorten those numbers." Jade walked over.
"That's not all whose out there." One warrior said.
"Who else?" I asked.I stood up and turned to them. Jade grabbed my hand.
"Daren's parents are leading them," Kyle said.
