As you two walked calmly to the Ridgely, you were pretty awkward and silent. Dirk decided to break the silence and get to know you. "You're kinda cute when you're annoyed you know." He said with an exasperated sigh from all of the running you had done prior to this moment. You stopped in your tracks. Did Dirk Gently just call you cute? No. Forget that ever happened, just go along with your walk.
You stayed silent because you were unaware of what was going on with your feelings. Did you fall for Dirk Gently the holistic detective? But you had just met the guy and he probably didn't really like you anyways.
You saw two fingers in snap front of your face that made you jump.
"Hello anyone in there?" He laughed.
"Oh uh yeah I'm here. Are we at the Ridgely yet?" You rubbed your back.
"Not quite. Hey do you um... happen to have like a significant other or something?" He asked curiously.
"No, why?" You wondered.
"No reason... oh look we're here!" He pointed to the Ridgely. That was a little odd... You entered the Ridgely to Todd's apartment. Dirk just entered his apartment like he lived there.
"Dirk uh hi who's this?" Todd asked
"This is my new friend!" Dirk exclaimed. You introduced yourself to Todd.
"Well uh it's a pleasure to meet you." Todd said.
"Yeah you too Todd." You said awkwardly.
"So what is 'your new friend' doing here exactly?" Todd asked.
"Well this morning 'my new friend' was about to get in the car but couldn't find the keys. So I showed up and then we came here and we were gonna ask you if you wanted to come on an adventure to England with 'my new friend' and I?" Dirk explained
"Are you guys seriously gonna refer to me as 'Dirk's new friend' the entire time?" You asked with an unimpressed tone.
"I mean you are 'my new friend' so why not?" Dirk excitedly said.
"We just met and you're already calling me a friend? I don't actually have many friends... thanks Dirk." You said.
"Just so we don't mix things up I'll call you my cute friend." Dirk pointed to you. "And you, Todd, are my assisfriend." He grinned. He just called you cute again. You needed to confront him about that. What's that you may ask? Your feelings toward Dirk. You knew you had fallen for this bubbly, adorable detective. You had to tell him.
