(A/N: Here it finally is. The long awaited 9th chapter of It's not an adventure. I hope you enjoy this chapter :)!)

You, Dirk and Todd stared as the machine kept sucking up metal from around.

"Perhaps there's an off switch!" Dirk shouted over the noise of the machine. He looked around the large thing, seeing if there was an off switch.

He wobbled to the backside of it, squinting his eyes. "I think I found the off switch!" He yelled at you two. "Well, what are you waiting for?!" Todd screamed. You could see Dirk reaching for a small button that was just out of his reach. He jumped, hitting the button. The machine stopped, you sighed, feeling relieved that it was over...

Or so you thought, once everyone started celebrating, it turned on again, but this time, it was throwing up all the metal it had previously been sucking, back out into the world.

"Can't you do anything right?!" Dirk scolded himself, you saw a flash of neon orange from the air. Your car keys? You followed them and rushed over to where they landed. In front of your feet, were your car keys.

How the actual fuck did they get all the way out here? In London. L O N D O N. Oh well, who gives a damn how they got here, you got your car keys back, all thanks to that gorgeous holistic detective, Dirk Gently. But of course we can't end that here, the machine is still throwing up metal!

A whir, and it stopped, you figured Todd and Dirk found a way to stop it while you were fetching your car keys. You were almost positive that Todd had a crush on Dirk aswell. Not that you could call yours just a crush, you had fallen madly in love with this playful detective.

You got your car keys and headed back to where the others were, placing your keys in the pocket of your pants. "Hey! We thought we lost you. Where did you run off to?" Todd asked while the holistic, now red faced for some reason which you thought was odd, stared at you admiringly.

"I got my car keys back!" You smiled at the short boy who looked uncannily like Frito from Ringing of the three Lords. Dirk ran over to you. "That's incredible!" His face was inches from your own. There was an awkward silent pause.

"So... what now?" Todd broke the silence. Did this mean the end of your time with Dirk? One case... and it's over? "Well, now, we go back home." Dirk sighed.
