"you know, you're going to be late if you don't go soon." minho scolded, handing hyunjin a sheet of paper. "what's that?" jisung asked, popping up from behind him.

"WHAT THE-" minho jumped, turning around and accidentally hitting jisung's arm. "OW!" jisung winced back, clutching his arm. "what was that for?"

"sorry, oh my god, you scared me!" the minho dramatically gasped. grimacing, jisung turned to hyunjin. "ummm wherever you're going, i think you should go now." he suggested. "i don't know much but it sounds like you have somewhere to be."

"well since you both are yelling at me to leave you alone, i'll go now." hyunjin said, amused at the scene in front of him. "good luck!"

an awkward cough made its way out of jisung's mouth. "well, i think-" he looked up, realizing that the distance between the two had suddenly disappeared. the breath was knocked out of his lungs as he stared up at minho.

"what are you staring at?" the other whispered lightly, his breath brushing up against jisung's face. the atmosphere had turned tensely silent and the both of them could sense the weird tension that had sparked between them.

"nothing..." jisung said back, his brain in a hazy state.

"is your arm alright?" minho muttered, bringing his hand slightly up to touch up against the area that he had struck. however, jisung was quick to flinch away, stepping back and almost tripping over his own feet.

"oh no- i'm sorry!" minho gasped, his hand falling back to his side. "did i scare you?" the mood was broken and jisung began to wonder if he had imagined that slight moment of tension.

"it's nothing, minho, i- i'm going to go back inside." his cheeks felt like they were on fire, his heart was racing, and his thoughts were jumbled and all over the place. he needed to get away.

"i'm sorry, i didn't mean to-" minho tried, reaching forward to gently grasp jisung's wrist. "let me apologize, jisung."

"just leave me alone!" trying to break free, he turned away. the sudden outburst instantly had both of them feeling bad for different reasons. jisung knew that he didn't mean to yell like that, and minho feared he was overstepping his boundaries.

however, something came over minho and his grip tightened. in a moment of sudden desperation, he yanked the smaller boy towards him, smashing their lips together.

click.

minho kept his lips pressed firmly onto the younger's, heart pounding in his throat. he himself didn't know where that burst of utter confidence came from, but he clung onto it, bringing his other hand up to jisung's face.

snap.

shocked, jisung just stood there. his insides felt like they were crumpling onto themselves. sweetly separating, the taller backed away and quickly brought his hands together in embarrassment as his cheeks flushed a light red.

"got you."

jisung couldn't help but break out in a small smile at the sight. "let's go back inside."

nodding minho began to walk towards the door, but jisung stopped him. "hyung, wait!" the older looked back, only to be met with the warm feeling of jisung's hand in his own. "just until we get inside, it's cold."

it was the middle of summer, but in that moment, the two found the most warmth in each other's hands.
