warning: minor violence (guns)

a chuckle sounded out of his mouth. boss would be so happy, maybe even finally agree to giving him a pay raise. that stupid animal. what the fuck was it even doing around here, and without a disguise or anything? it was even dumber than he initially thought.

whistling a small tune, the man scrolled through the pictures he had took on his phone. there were many pictures, hopefully enough to prove to his boss that it was real and he had actually caught pictures of one of the infamous hybrids running around.

dreaming about riches, he clicked off his phone and excitedly entered the run-down warehouse.

"ey, back already? thought you were out till dawn." one blew a puff of smoke from his mouth, fiddling with the cheap cigarette in hand. "where's boss? i made a crucial discovery. its super important."

another person entered from the back. "boss is in the back, do you need to talk to her?" nodding, the first man walked past the latter. "its going to change our lives forever."

"what's going to change our lives forever?" a female voice lazily droned, footsteps sounding. "boss! i have pictures of the government wanted hybrids! well, one of them!" he yelled, waving his phone around.

at his words, the cigarette dropped from one's hand while the other simply stared in disbelief. "show me." there was a sort of restrained glee in the boss's voice, as she stalked closer. her boots scuffed against the dusty floor, creating a familiarized yet unpleasant noise against their ears.

"here, ma'am." eagerly pushing the phone forward, he proudly displayed the photos he had took.

"what do we do now, ma'am?" the smoker dared to ask. ignoring him, the boss turned to the provider. "where is this?"

"the abandoned park, ma'am. judging by the clothes, he seemed like he had somewhere to live. he was also squealing about someone kissing him..."

"gear up. i think i know where he's been staying. we're going to make a little visit to our far neighbor's home." she smirked, clapping her hands twice. two more people came out of the shadows, already holding strange looking guns.

"we're going to strike it rich today."

"where has jisung been? its been an hour since he left!" minho exclaimed, agitated from the absence of the boy. "its just an hour, hyung. he'll be fine." hyunjin was calmly sitting on the couch, absorbed in the tv. seungmin was beside him, snuggling with him.

"you're just jealous we're all cuddling." chan chuckled from his spot on the sofa. jeongin was half asleep with his head on his lap.

"definitely." felix muttered, smothering changbin in kisses.

"i'm just unsure if i scared him off or something." minho nervously sighed. "what did you even do?" seungmin looked up in interest.

"i might've... kis-"

the doorbell rang, alerting them of someone's presence at the door. thinking that it was obviously jisung, minho scrambled to answer the door.

"wait... jisung took a key with him." chan suddenly spoke, but it was too late. a second after the words left his mouth, a gunshot rang through the house.

"what-" minho fell back, slamming the door closed and breathing heavily. "what the fuck was that?" changbin started to shut the blinds, obstructing the view of whoever was shooting at the house. "we should get you three out. it's not safe."

"what about jisung hyung?" jeongin asked, concern showing in his gaze as he began to side step towards the wall. "he's still not here."

"i don't know, but you need to get out. run, just get out of here. run the opposite direction, behind the house. we'll call you when it's safe." chan said, prying a side window open. "get out." almost reluctantly, the three were pushed out of the small window. soon, they were out of sight.
