Hope Within

Chapter 2 Stolen Grimoire

In the great Eternal City within a place called Vision of the Edge chapel. A shady figure appears in front of the pope.

"Great pope Saul Jacob's the Fifth." Said the mysterious figure lurking in the shadow.

 “Did you find it?” Said saul 

“No my Lord I haven't found it within the Vault. Someone or something broke in and took the book. I tried to look for any fingerprints, footsteps or even traces of aura and I found nothing. It was like a ghost walked in and took it so I don't know what is actually going on.” Said the mysterious figure 

“That's a problem with that book out in the open. We don't know who has it. This can cause so many problems, not just for the church but for the whole world. Our priority is to find that book no matter the cost. Do you have any leads on who could have taken it!?!” Saul said angrily 

“I do have a person in mind that I heard from whispers and I believe this person is named Jonathan Lyner.” Mysterious figure recalled

“Who is this Jonathan Lyner? Does he go against the church? If he is against the church it would be most likely he would have taken it.” Saul questioned as he pondered to himself.

“I don't know if he has any faith in any religion. All I know is he is a historian that wants to continue someone's work of proving that some kind of spiritual being exists.” Mysterious figure reply

“Continued someone's work you say? So Troy had sons or should I say a family... I heard he didn't have a family. If I knew he had a family then I would have probably dealt with them. Saul talked as he remembered the past.

Three guards in armor barged into the room and with fear on their faces. One of them was carrying a bag that was dripping blood as he put the bag on the floor and took out another guard’s head. The other was carrying a bloody axe that is bigger than his body. The third guard struggled to walk towards the Pope and fell to the floor looking like he's on his last legs.
“Your holiness there was a demon that came through these castle walls and it attacked us and killed one of our men. The first guard said

“Are you serious? How did a demon get here? This chapel was built on holy ground this demon shouldn't be able to come in. How long have you guys been hurt?” Saul said worry about the guards.

Suddenly a raging fireball hit the three men and as they screamed in agony Saul looked at the door and saw two people walking in. one was carrying a crystal wand with his wizard hat covering his face. The other is a woman that carried two pistols which one was white and another was green. She also has a bandage around her face and shield behind her back.

“Who are you people to come in here?” Saul shouted at the mysterious people.

“My name is Iris and as for my friend you don’t need to know. We came to speak to your shadow there, Pope Saul.” Iris said as she stopped and looked at them both.

“You came in here and killed my people just to talk to my messenger!?! Shouting at Iris and her companion.

“I am shocked that you aren’t scared of us. Unless you witness magic before Pope Saul. Going back on topic here I am just surprised that he didn’t tell you that we were coming. So Derek, are you going to come with us to kill Savage and Johnathan?” Iris says, smirking at the mystery man behind Saul.

"Saul These two are from the same place where I came from and where I gathered my intel on the book. They are from a group called Blood Barons…” Derek said as he started walking towards them.

Saul recollected himself and looked at them as they walked out of the chapel. Derek turned his head and looked at Saul at the corner of his eye with a killer’s gaze.

“You want the book back and want Johnathan dead to be prepared for what’s to come after. If you don’t you will die alone...”  Derek said

After the Blood Barons left the other guards came in to check on the Pope. They saw the ashes in front of the pope and blood at his feet. The guards rush up to him as quickly as possible. The first guard looked around to check if there was anyone hiding anywhere. Saul fell on his knees as Derek's last words echoed in his mind. The guards helped him up and were going to walk him to his chambers. But Saul stopped suddenly.

“Daniel I hope you are safe from harm my friend.” Everyone prepares to lock down the chapel and the city. The Grand Grimoire has been stolen so who knows what will happen… Our job is to protect everyone in our city and the country. I will have to get in touch with King and warn him something is coming. ” Saul said confidently

Saul ponders about how after today that the world will never be the same again. The guards to their post. He looked up at the window seeing the picture of the Lord then went down on his hands and knees pray. This chaos is about to begin… Saul thought to himself. Jonathan was at a fancy hotel ready for the public. Sherry comes in the door With a beautiful dress Black-and-blue She comes up to Jonathan and fixes her hair while fixing to his hair she gives him a smile.
