Chapter 26 Divine Chain

Mimi and Lucy continue walking in the blazing desert. There was nothing but sand around them and Mimi is still frustrated with Lucy with the stunt she did back in the train. Mimi stopped and turned around and grabbed Lucy's right arm. A golden aura covers them and Mimi let Lucy's arm go and continue moving forward.

"What was that?" Lucy asked, giving her a confused expression and wanting an answer. Mimi tilted her head to the side and gave a sigh.

"I just put a spell on our clothes so it looks like everyone else's style so it doesn't draw attention." Mimi replied, taking her bunny jacket and making it vanish. Mimi touched her hair and it grew until it was all the way down to her back. Lucy took a step back away from her and gave a serious look. Mimi turned around and Lucy saw that both her eyes are two different colors. Her left eye is dark purple and right eye is dark red.

"So is this the real you Mimi?" Lucy question

"No it's not...This is just half of my Demon form and Time Walker form. Don't ask because I'm not giving my backstory." Mimi responds, continuing to move forward but Lucy grabs her arm.

"We need to talk about it...Who are these Moon Knights?" Lucy asked, demanding an answer but Mimi pulled her arm away from Lucy and continued to walk.

"They are one of the punishment forces in the Divine Chain...Not only that but they are the ones that destroy any realities being messed with..." Mimi said, continued to walk farther but Lucy realized that Mimi was wearing a short dress and saw that there was a scar on Mimi's right arm.

"What do you mean by they destroy realities?" Lucy continued to ask, trying to push Mimi to tell her more information. But they saw egyptians soldiers surrounding a man and woman. Mimi took a closer look and realized it's Nik and Stacy.

"We'll continue this conversation after we Nik and Stacy." Mimi said, making her wand appear and Lucy jumped into the air and pulling her scythe out. Nik looked up in the sky and did a led sweep around Stacy to knock the soldiers down. Lucy smash into the middle causing the sand to shoot up and shockwave to blow them back.

"Dark raging flames here my command and burn my enemies into ash, Dark Blaze!! Mimi shouted, firing a raging flame tornado that swept up the egyptain soldier as they were scream in agony.

"You know that you ladies didn't have to intervene at all. We were just trying to play prisoner." Nik said, Mimi walked through the flaming tornado and snapped her fingers and it vanished without a trace.

"Well you two wasn't here for the briefing I gave but we can't do anything to change anything at all. Not even a little because there will be harsh consequences." Mimi responds back, looking at the sky and sees it's about to be night. Mimi was about to say something but Stacy pulled out a knife and handed it to her.

"This is a knife that is designed to send everyone back to the present. Jovanna created this because she fears that The Boss will try to get the gang to break the rules..." Stacy said, tears falling from her eyes. Lucy is confused about what Stacy said, but Mimi went and created fire from the ground so everyone can sit around.

"So before I explain what I think is going on here. Stacy Tell me what you guys found out. I am surprised that she got you involved too. Mimi said, Stacy toward them what happened in the city and what she saw before they went into the gate to travel to find them.

"We are basically here because I think I put a piece of the puzzle together and came to the conclusion that they are trying to trap us in the past so we can't get back." Nik said, putting his hand on his chin and pondering about his theory. Mimi shook her head in disagreement that Nik theory is wrong.

"I can see why you think but that is not it because...He did this before and besides I believe The Boss won't be careless to do that again." Mimi said

"Then what is his plan then Mimi?" Nik asked, crossing his arms waiting for an answer.

"He is trying to make us break the Divine chain...I know because Time Traveling is more of a curse or a death sentence." Mimi responded back

"What makes it like that Mimi?" Stacy asked, butting in with her curiosity.

"The way it works is us Time walkers we guard the passage of time making sure no creature messes with it. If you change the past it doesn't change your present but creates another branch in the time which creates more realities." Mimi said Lucy, Stacy and Nik were still following what she is saying but still confused.

"The Divine Chain is known for many things. One I will get into is the Equilibrium within all areas. As you all know there is one timeline which means one reality, so if there are so many branches in time it will cause a shift to create another. So to keep it at bay there are many divine entities that will keep it in check." Mimi continued to state.

"So you're basically saying that you and your people are in charge to make sure no one tries to take over time and create a new reality?" Nik asked, Mimi nodded her head and smiled at him but her smile didn't last long.

"From what I can gather It seems that the trap is to get us to break the rules or to cause an uproar which will make the punishment force come after us. So The Boss is making a loophole for himself if that is his plan." Mimi said, sighing falling back into the sand.

"What's our plan then Mimi?" Stacy asked, looking for an answer but Mimi gets up and looks at the stars in the sky.

"We have to find the others and send them back to our time. It's too dangerous to be in the past with The Boss planning a trap from us..." Mimi said, everyone got up and Nik started to walk to the north.

"I'll meet you guys in the city. I have to look for the Tome. Don't worry about me, I have an idea where I should look." Nik said, smirking at Mimi but she was not amused. However she let him go. The ladies started walking the other way but suddenly Mimi saw a blurry man from a far. She glared at him and her vision became clear and it was Savage standing there.

"Savage!" Mimi screamed out and then started to run towards but the desert wind was strong and that moment he vanished. Mimi fell on the ground and one tear fell from her eye. Lucy came up behind her and patted her on the back.

"It's just your eyes just playing tricks on you. Nothing is real as much as we want it to be real." Lucy said, staring at a dark skin man in an army suit. Lucy tightens her fist as she gazes upon the man.

"Derrick..." Lucy said silently.
