Chapter 28

"So these plants are the reason Birdstar is always around our territory?" Shellstar questioned Otterpelt, who had Thistlepaw right next to her.

"Yes, that is what Thistlepaw here has told me. She found them along with Blizzardfluff, Hailpad, and Icejaw." Otterpelt meowed.

"Yeah! They had his scent all over them!" Thistlepaw added.

"Hmm, alright, get Featherdrip in here and I will speak with her about it." He meowed.

"Alright." Otterpelt replied, leaving his den along with Thistlepaw.

Well, the plants must be special if Birdstar has them around my territory... Shellstar thought, sniffing the plant. It didn't have a scent at all. It doesn't have a scent, it must have a wonderful taste then I guess... Shellstar would eat the plant, but he decided against it since even Otterpelt doesn't know what it is. The Driftclan leader looked up as he saw Featherdrip pad into his den. "You needed me, Shellstar?" She meowed.

"Yes, these plants are mostly why Birdstar is on our territory a lot." He meowed back.

Her eyes widened a little. "Really? What are they?" Featherdrip turned her head to the side a little.

"I don't know, and Otterpelt doesn't know either. Only Birdstar knows, since he's the one that plants and grows them," Shellstar meowed.

"Oh..."

"Well, when you organize dawn patrols from now on, I want you to have them stay closer around the borders. Maybe we can spot Birdstar soon enough so we can interrogate him." the tom said.

"Got it!" Featherdrip replied with a smile, and padded out of his den.

Shellstar then got up. "I think it's time for two new warriors." he meowed and padded out of his den.

Blizzardfluff sat in the warriors' den thinking to herself until she heard a yell come from outside of the den. It was from Shellstar.

"Cats of Driftclan, please gather around the Tide Pool for a clan meeting!"

Blizzardfluff came out of the warriors' den and watched as every other Driftclan cat came around to the Tide Pool. She joined the group of cats.

"I have gathered you all here today because there will be two new warriors, Eaglepaw please step forward," Shellstar meowed.

Eaglepaw did as he was told and stepped up to the Tide Pool.

"Eaglepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect Driftclan, even if it means your life?" The clan leader asked.

"I do."

"Then, by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Eaglepaw, from this moment you will be known as Eagleswoop. Starclan honors your skill, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Driftclan," He meowed.

"Thank you, Shellstar." Eagleswoop meowed.

"Now Damppaw, please step forward."

Damppaw had stepped up to the Tide Pool.

"Damppaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect Driftclan, even if it means your life?"

"I do."

"Then, by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Damppaw, from this moment you will be known as Dampbreeze. Starclan honors your determination, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Driftclan."

"You may both dip your noses in the Tide Pool." Shellstar added and smiled.

Eagleswoop and Dampbreeze dipped both of their noses in the Tide Pool and then took them out.

"Eagleswoop! Dampbreeze! Eagleswoop! Dampbreeze!" Driftclan cheered both of the new warriors' names. Blizzardfluff noticed Dampbreeze padding up to her afterward.

"Hey, Dampbreeze! Congratulations on becoming a warrior!" She meowed.

"Thanks, Blizzardfluff, I've been waiting forever for this to happen so I could ask you something." He replied blushing a bit.

"Ask me what?" Blizzardfluff questioned.

"Will you... Be my mate?" Dampbreeze asked, blushing even more now.

Blizzardfluff gasped and gave a wide smile. "Of course I will!" she blushed as well and nuzzled up against her new mate happily.

Dampbreeze was happier than he's ever been in his life. He couldn't wait to see where the future would take them both.
